for those of you complaining about games for WII

here is a great list of games that are out or will be coming out to shut you up.

these are just a sample of great games that are out or are going to be out this year so dont be impatient and blame it on Nintendo, its the consumers fault for not trying out new games and instead getting stupid ones

most of that list is no good.

somtimes i have the feeling that nintendo gyus are saying : "hey, those gyus who bought the wii wouldnt make a difference between an FPS and an RPG just throuh anything at them, theyll get it because they have no choice"

it really sucks.

dont worry, one day ill fight in the kumite, and make my wii proud.

well id hardly say if i had xbox live i would be jealous of NWFC, but yeah jealousy is definetly a factor in some areas.

i actually think the wii might be surpasing the ds as a more popular system!

Am I not allowed to critique the Wii if I own one? As a Wii owner, I can complain that there is a lack of quality third person titles compared to other systems. As a 360 owner, I can say that there there have been too many hardware problems. Is this wrong for me to say?

Luckily for Nintendo, they have tons of great 1st party titles that compensate for the lack of 3rd party.

A system needs 3rd party support, it cannot live on 1st party support. Nintendo has done a great job of pumping a lot of blockbuster hits out but they will have nothing left for Q4 2008 and for 2009. If quality 3rd parties are available by then, Wii will have won the console war.

The people who are complaining of that subject are people who want more violent games and less kiddy games. That's all.

For me, I have 16 Wii games on my wishlist. I'm good with that.

Quality games usually take 1 to 3 years to make... If Nintendo played their cards right when they start running out of steam a wave of killer 3rd party games should pop up.

r you saying that wii ware will have custom games for dl! that sounds pretty cool! i just dont think the wii would be able to hold more than 1 or 2 because of its low memory.

Very much agreed. It's all a matter of opinion. I would love to get a 360, but my parents don't let me play games rated M and we all know that the 360 has no good games rated under M besides rock band (No flaming, remember the OPINION thing I'm talkin about). I don't like sports games either so it would be useless for me to get one. I have nothing against the system, and nor do I complain about it, I just don't really want it. In one word all I could think of is opinion. I like Mario. I have a Wii. My cousin likes sports games. He has a 360. Doesn't that kind of make sense. (don't get me started on the PS3 though:roll:

I think you mean "a list of great games" not "a great list of games". I have a few problems with your list. I don't think every game you've listed is 'great' at all, additionally I live in Australia and we are being screwed over by Nintendo.

Baroque isn't my type of game but I am glad to see it on the Wii as it's definitely unconventional. However, Starwars is a port of a 360 and PS3 game and will probably have controls tacked on, based on the latest interviews. Tales of Symphonia, I can't find a listing for that appearing on the Wii, are you sure? It's a PS2 port from a couple of years ago anyway.

MOHH2 isn't out here in Australia yet, I'll agree it's great though. In fact we're behind on quite a few games, including the new Trauma Centre, we only got the original Trauma Centre for the Wii (a launch title in the states) about 2 months ago. Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy I do not doubt will be delayed here as well.

The DBZ games are not great games.

Furthermore, if no one makes good games on the Wii and casual gamers continue to purchase 'party games' and so forth from companies like Majesco then there'll never be a turnaround for the Wii market.

I apoligise if this post seems snappy, I'm not angry at you. I'm angry at Nintendo Australia and the third party developers who are churning out 'family friendly' and 'party games' on the Wii as opposed to trying to make interesting or fun games with narratives.

Imagine it, a new third party title:

a) built from the ground up with good controls or a good play mechanic

b) a storyline/narrative

c) cooperative play or an online competitive multiplayer

I hold out hope for Hideo Kojima and I look forward to playing Trauma Centre 2. Right now the only games I desperately want to play are Brawl and No More Heroes, yet neither of them have release dates for Australia yet.

EDIT: No More Heroes has a release date for Australia after all, Feb 28. I'm slightly happier now.

i agree on the fact that they should have added online or multiplayer for metroid prime 3 ......and well you never know starwars might turn out to be a good game,....also tales of symphonia 2 is on gametrailers.com,.....and i said i liked DBZ not that it was a great game but that i like it,....and yeah i totally agree with what you said at the end. andres836

I'm glad you didn't flip out and yell at me :-) I enjoyed Super Dragon Ball Z by the way, on the Playstation 2 and I am a fan of the series, just not Budokai or the others developed by Spike.

To drive my point home about how you could make a cool Wii game, I present a mockup of a Metal Gear Solid inspired Wii game with instructions on how the Wiimote would function, something along the lines of the Tank game from Wii Play. It's not supposed to be designed from the ground up, but you can see how you could have hectic split-screen or online multiplayer as well as a single player game with a storyline:

The WII has Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, and The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. They are must have games the PS3 does not have one game I want that the 360 doesnt have. The virtual console is also great. The WII really is a solid console.
