I was on another site looking for some gaming news when i came across this article...I dont know if this has been posted but here ya go.http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/04/22/nintendos-wii-has-good-graphics/mrmoeone
Looking good. At least it's going in the right direction.
oh, and LINKED :D
That is just a tech demo. A final game on the Wii would not look that good because that tech demo is not running a lot of things that a full game would. The Conduit uses this engine and it does not look as good as this tech demo...it looks decent. Nothing close to PS3/360/PC.
But I am happy to see that third party developers are trying to take the Wii seriously. I hope The Conduit tunrs out to be a good game.

Mario Galaxy does not use that engine, and looks way better than The Conduit and that tech demo video combined.
you have pretty much no clue about what you're talking about.

Right... The tech demo looks better than Galaxy but The Conduit does not.
I can't say how many 360/ps3/pc owners are biased about wii games. I am glad that you, unlike others, atleast admit that they are decent. But others won't even admit that Brawl/Galaxy/Corruption/Conduit have good graphics. That is just a tech demo. I would just like to pint out that while you say that the tech demo looks better than the game will it's self, but look at Corruption. simply in the first part of the game, there are over 300 (small and weak) enemies going after you with seperate and fluid movements. no lag. there is no way that you can say that the wii cannot have good graphics.
I know that you are better than most others by admitting that the wii can have decent graphics, but someone has to get my angry rant.

I take Mario Galaxy over whatever "amazing effects" that demo showcases any day.
That's old, it's from the IGN article about The Conduit. But it seems many haven't seen it yet.Wintry_Flutistone would think everyone else saw it with all the threads that spawned :P

Wii games do look good. Prime 3 was pretty good and Galaxy had a great art direction.

I would too. I cant argue with that. Galaxy has a better look and art direction than The Conduit/tech demo.

The tech demo is technically better but not artistically. However, I do think that Galaxy looks better than The Conduit on every level.

Mario Galaxy looks good because the developers spent as much time on the visuals as 360 and PS3 devs do. I am begining to think that most devs will never even attempt this unless its within the confines of Nintendo with companies like factor 5 and Monolith.
[QUOTE="one_of_panda"]I love the Wii, but that just looks like crap IMO. But its still a nice try.Goku2639Ok i own all 3 next gen systems...and I just saw that tech demo for the first timme. It looks really good actually. How does it look like crap? Are you a fanboy too?
I would have to admit this engine looks pretty slick. But it wouldn't be very efficient to make nice bright toy colors that seem to be so stinking popular on the Wii. I think developers actually choose to make stuff bright and fluffy because they think that's what people want out of the system. I would love to see a game take this engine and make something awesome with it.raahsnavj
well games like what high Voltage are doing is trying to tap that literally starved market on Wii. The problem is nintendo fans dont support those slightly less popular games that do try to look more gritty and realistic. IM sick of everyone automatically assuming that something wont sell onWii based on NO proper experimentation. Its feels like developers only see Nintendo systems as funky and weird just because games that are completely awsome(SMG) also happen to be funky and weird.
Why cant companies just lookat it properly? If you make a good game and inform people about this game(this is what they do with the 360) then its probabaly gonna sell with a 25 million fanbase. No companies, rack their brains with how can we rip off Wii sports put half the effort into it becuse we dont understand the underlying depth and then add completely quirky and weird unlikeable characters to it.
it would be wicked if the next zelda used that enginechex81
it would never happen in a million years. Nintendo makes their own engines. From my understandment and assumingness...all of their 3d platform engines started with Super Mario 64 and they were upgraded from that then on. It's the same engine, but just overhauled for each new system and game.
Don't quote me on that, due to having no proof...But I do know for a fact that SM64 and OoT/MM used the same engine with it being updated for the later two.
back on subject...
Conduit looks good for what it is. If anyone says it doesn't look decent for a Wii game so far hasn't played anything besides 1st party games yet, or has never seen a PS360 in action. I love my Wii and prefer it above anything, but there's no arguing that it can't do what the other two can.
I'll take it as is....Solid game/graphics/with great controls= a good game.
There's no reason that the Wii can't be pushed by now. I mean the tech is modded GC internals so there's no reason they can't push the graphics and the controls.
