Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon

"An RPG from Japanese combo-publisher Namco Bandai. Fragile takes place in the near future, in a world that has lost its population. You play as Seto, a young boy who wanders around, searching through the abandoned cities and facilities of this world, trying to learn the truth behind the disappearance of all the people, and to find someone to keep him company.

The Wiimote is used as an aid in exploration. Seto uses a flashlight to light up his surroundings. You get to use the Wiimote to directly point the flashlight in whatever direction you like. Seto also has a metal detector. Once again, the Wiimote is used to directly operate this device. In addition to exploration, Seto has to deal with ghosts who appear in the ruins. We're not sure how he fights these foes, but it seems that a stick of some form is involved."-IGN

(If the picture didn't come up then I don't been having problems getting that to work)

Tri Crescendo is the ones developing it. They did Eternal Sonata for the xbox 360. The game just looks fascinating. There has not been alot of coverage on this game I was starting to worry it was not coming out outside of Japan. That would be real tragic considering how short the wii is on rpgs.

I've heard of it, and I think most of us have. Fragile seems to be a very interesting RPG. It's not the same typical story where you're a destined/chosen little village boy who's destined to save the world... Ugh, I hate that story.

I just watched the short video on IGN, looks cool and I'll keep my eye on it as well. To me, Namco has made a name for it self with the Tales series and I'm glad to see them jump on the Wii bandwagon as of late. By the way, don't rip on the cliche RPG with little village boy becoming hero... those are definately my favorite!! ;)

Please refrain from putting "lol" at the end of your own unfunny comments. You're making puppies cry.remblade

Classic! lol

Anyway, Yeah it looks pretty interesting. I would never bash on the "Palookaville 12-year-old saves world" storyline since it's that same pattern that got me into RPGs in the first place! But I love the originality of this idea. Flashlight, metal detector, stick. What more does a real hero need?

I heard about Fragile sometime last year; yesterday I was actually thinking "I haven't heard anything about that game for some time". Not enough information about it to form an option. I think all I remember about the game is seeing a screenshot and thinking the graphics looked pretty great. So I'm not sure about the game yet, but I do like that the Wii seems to be getting some more RPG support lately.

Well, you said that the team behind it was Eternal Sonta, and that made it to NA. In fact, it wound up on the 360, a system that's not so friendly to JRPGs. I think if it proves to be a big hit, there's a good chance we'll see it overseas. The Japanese game market is trying to get western audiences more and more this gen, so I think playing Fragile without importing it can possibly happen one day...whenever it's finished.

Not to get off-track, but you've fallen for a very popular and incorrect assumption about the 360. There are actually more jRPGs for the 360 than there are on the PS3 and Wii combined. MS made a concerted effort in making sure the sub-genre was supported on their console and thus far they've done a good job.

The console could have more JRPG but still the average 360 owner doesn't care about these games. Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon bombed in sales. Lost Odyssey will probably bomb as well. I think the Tales games on 360 is a suicide for Namco.

The average 360 owner is more for the WRPG.

Hmm...while I was typing that, I was actually thinking of something I read in an article once about the 360 and RPGs, specially JRPGs. The thing is, the only ones I can name off the top of my head are Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonta. Seriously; I'm not saying there aren't any more, but I'm just ignorant of their existance, I guess. I don't want to turn this into a recommendation thread, but if you can name any others I'm all ears as I love rpgs, and I'm thinking of getting a 360 soon.

Oh, and there's Blue Dragon as well, but that was a mixed result. Some liked it, but I think most thought it was just average. The 360, just like the Xbox, just doesn't seem like an RPG console, especially JRPGs.

I didn't know so many people were aware of it. Then again its true there isn't alot of information to really have discussions on the game anyways. So thats why I was starting to tihnk no one had noticed it.

As of right now they don't even have a release date in Japan. So it is a long ways away. Either way though whether it comes here or not I am going to play it.
