From this list, which game should I buy?

-New Super Mario Bros.

-Yoshi's Island DS

-Custom Robo Arena

-Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

I love old school mario a lot, having all the Super Mario Advance series on my GBA. I really liked the original Yoshi's Island and I have heard PW:AA is really good, but not to much into games with a deep story (the reading doesn't bother me). I included Custom Robo because it looks good but in some screen shots, it looks like Pokemon (I don't like Pokemon). So I am very lost.

I say Yoshi Island DS. It's a great game, my favorite DS game of '06. ;)

Custom Robo is the best action game on the DS. The only thing that is similar to Pokemon is the overworld. The battles and customization is far different from Pokemon as well.

I haven't played Yoshi's Island, but I have played the other three. And out of those, I would definetly choose Phoenix Wright. It may be a massive "text reading" game, but you'll get sucked into the storylines, but on the downside it has minimal replayability. Custom Robo Arena is a fun game and as you stated, I'm not a big fan of pokemon, but I did enjoy Robo Arena. The only problem I had with Robo was that the combat was repetitive, but if you're looking for a Wi-Fi game, then for sure get Custom Robo Arena. New Super Mario Bros is alright, but you'll enjoy Custom Robo Arena or Phoenix Wright more, in my opinion.

ooh tough choices. i would go with either nsmb or yoshi. i personally chose mario because i liked the 3d better and it's mario who doesnt like mario? while yoshi had 2d, and a longer gameplay. whatever tickles your pickle(whatever floats your boat)

i'm not going to recommend NSMB. After you beat all the levels once it gets very, very, very boring.

if you love old school Mario games, take new Super mario Bros. You will not regret it.

i'll just have you know that i got stuck not far into yoshi's island and i don't have much patience so i stopped playing that, i'm thankful i just borrowed it. and NSMB is way too short and not all that fun. if you want either of those two, Yoshis Island is way better.
