So I know most of us want it...but it seems to be one of the best franchises (imo) that no one has ever brought up. I myself am a HUGE fan of all three F-Zero games and think a beautiful new Wii version would just decimate. Taking the Gamecube version's great engine and ramping it up in graphics, speed, and scale as well as the new controls....could be the best racer EVER!!! (fanby alert :D ) And hey...they could be working on it. Oh and did I mention online?

So tell me if the idea excites you or not and what other type of features it should have.

We can only dream.....

If they do I would love to have a cockpit view and maybe a weapons mode (I know, would go against the genre, but that's why I suggesed a mode).

Holy crap a well implemented weapon system WOULD rock!! Emphasis on "well implemented" though. Maybe even some sort of defense system too...

A new F-Zero would be awesome indeed, but wouldn't it be freaking hard to steer with the wiimote?

I for one would love a new F-Zero game. It would really help bolster their 08 game list.

I hope so, but I just pray that they don't implement their horrible 'steering wheel' control scheme, where the Wii-mote is held on its side. Come to think of it, I hope they don't do it to Mario Kart, either. Sorry to hijack...

I concure. I'd prefer them not to use the Wiimote on the side steering. I can deal with it, and it worked great for Excite truck but in general I prefer to use the nunchuck. Always.

And btw Mario Kart (at least as of now) does use the "on the side" method. Hence the Wii Wheel.

I'd love it also of they could use some different forms of multiplayer too, but they would need to not detract from the racing element.

There is no reason you shouldn't get the gamecube version. It is easily one of the best looking games this or last generation.

I personally enjoy the whole "Wiimote on it's side" steering. That said, it may not be appropriate for this title.

I bet they'll make one and it would be awesome. I would like a wii mote on it's side steering wheel configuration.

if anyones played super monkey ball for the wii, i think its gonna handle very similarly to monkey race, but with much better controls. the same team designed f-zero gx for the cube (in partnership with nintendo, ofcourse), and f-zero gx was running on the monkey ball graphics engine aswell.

on a side note.. do u think they'll actually "improve" the graphics? i know the wii can easily handle it, but following recent trends, i think they'll downgrade them jst to make it seem more family friendly or sum crap excuse like tht

The prospect of a trend like that (which I've definitley seen signs of), from NINTENDO of all places, makes me want to off myself out of gaming principal.

it sucks.. but thts wat nintendo seems to be doing..

ditching galaxy for wii fit... how many casuals wud have been subscribed to a gaming website so they cud watch an hour long nintendo press conference.. e3 shud b aimed at the hardcore crowd, instead they brushed us aside with a rather pathetic showing of galaxy and prime3.

nintendo needs to get their act together. i know their winning, but its jst a new audience theyve caught tht dnt particulalry care if they play a nintendo or a sony machine.. they'll move on if any1 else can pull off a better gimmick.. they're winning now, but its us tht'll stick with them later. theyve forgotten about their loyal fanbase

getting back on topic, I think it will be announced next year, possibly for a holiday 08 release. GX was quite possibly the best racing game I have ever played. It was so challenging and yet rewarding, as well as customizable, intense, crazy and every other positive adjective imaginable. On the Wii with 30 player online races would be difficult to achieve with that sense of speed, but it would be the most amazing online ever.

a new f-zero would def make my undersides tingle, but so would some new ips. id like to see nin tackle some categories that we would consider unorthodox from them. dont get me wrong, they make the best 1st party games out there imo.

hell i could even deal wit an eternal darkness 2 or sumthin along those lines

E3 is for the Press, not the gamers. Period. Especially now that it's been scaled down.

If you want a show that's actually geared towards the players, wait for E 4 Everyone.

No weapons, please. It's bad enough we get spin and slide attacks.

I'd like to see the series go back to its roots. Have everything in the vein of tracks like Mute City 2 from F-Zero X. To hell with loop-the-loops, corkscrews, cylinders, and all that other crap. Just give me straight-up F-Zero racing on mostly flat courses (got nothing against hills and the like, but the over-the-top crap has to go).

Well first of all making the game from the foundation of it's "roots" would not be from F-Zero X (as rad as that game was). Truly going back to it's roots would be to base the engine off of the amazing SNES version. And while I do agree with your theory in principal, I do think however that with today's audience an today's technology and the way we're used to it, that keeping the game as stripped down straight forward as the older games wouldn't really keep most gamers' interests. AS WELL as hold it's own among the rest of what the gaming world is offering today.

Really, as much as sooo many seem to be afraid of it, change is a GREAT thing if and when it's done correctly to the right franchise. Case in point the evolution of the Zelda series: Legend of Zelda through Ocarina to Twilight Princess. Also the way Metroid lent itself SOOO WELL!!!! to the first person perspective. Those series' saw serious changes and now we have the best in those series to look forward to because of those very changes.

F-Zero GX was easily the fastest game on the planet. As much as an online Wii iteration would seem like a good idea at first, on second glance I will point out that if F-Zero Wii was any faster/prettier than the GC version your eyes would quite likely burst into flames and then explode out of their sockets... In any case, I'm in.

If they could manage 8 players online then I'd be happy, I also hope Death Race from F-Zero Xwill return (2min 2sec my record) and get rid of the cheesy story mode from GX and just have a challange mode, Im not sure about weapons though.

Personally with 30 racers in every race I'd like to see 30 players online. If they have 32 in the new Medal of Honor they could do 30 here.

Hmm...so:

-Weapons in or out? (I say in)

-Online for sure

-8 or 30 racers online? (gotta be 30 :D )

-Customizable and/or upgradable vehicles

-story mode in or out? (I say in again)

-how should it control? (i.e. Wii on it's side-traditional with nunchuck which is my preferance)

And this I just thought of; I'd love to see tracks with branching paths. If, depending on the difficulty of the race there could be anywhere from one to three or four points in the race where it splits into significantly different paths?

The GC version played with this but each branch just had paths that were mirrors of each other and always kept the racers in sight of each other. I'm talking about whole different adventures and ways to make it through each race. It could add an awesome new level of depth to game!!!!

Right. Really that is the question too. HOW would it controll? What scheme would be best? Maybe you should be able to pick from a few options ala Smash Bros. It would be interesting to see. I just GOTTA believe they're making it. .....
