he's gonna say that the wii userbase is of 70 million and therefore, it's still a small game.[QUOTE="muscle_shark"]

he's gonna say that the wii userbase is of 70 million and therefore, it's still a small game. weeeeeell........large numbers for the game itself. anything over a mill and close to 2 is impressive to me, but when measure up against the userbase, you gotta admit it isnt THAT great.[QUOTE="slvrraven9"]my question is, if the wii has sold over 70 mil and wii sports comes packaged in the box why is it listed as only 62 mil?chris3116
I don't know if it's counting the worldwide sales but in Japan, Wiisports was not in bundle with the Wii.
ah, well then that makes sense then. thanks for the answer! That is so stupid that they even count Wii Sports. It's not fair. It comes with the Wii no matter what, you have to have it! I have never once seen Wii Sports in an actual video game store.

the thing is that the wii user base is pretty damm diversified.unlike few or any before it.You cant, on the wii, realistically expect any game to sell to the majority of its userbase. Its selling a mill on the first weeks and we can look foward up to perhaps 10million lifetime which is only 1/7 of the playerbase. Is impossible for any non bundled system -wi fit included- to sell to the majority of a diversified playerbase such as the wii. The more units the wii sells, the less you can expect an application to reach to its mayority, specially because its library spawned different interests. It has fit games, that wont reach the 50% of wii userbase, it has shooters that wont ever reach that, and not even the mario games. Even the higuest selling non bundled game ever, MK ,is not reaching half of the playerbase. That doesnt make it any less impressive..In fact i dont see impressive if a console with 1 million units sold, has a game that sold 800k.That just mean the playerbase is very defined ,but nothing impressive.
my question is, if the wii has sold over 70 mil and wii sports comes packaged in the box why is it listed as only 62 mil?slvrraven9It wasn't packaged in Japan, they had to buy it separately. Its no surprise that Mario is dominating the charts, its is Mario after all.
Wii Sports is #5 on the list...
That's incredible that a game that comes free with the console is so good that people run off and purchase another copy. I assume that's the case as that would explain why it's on a game sales chart.:?

uhhh.... New Super Mario bros Wii sold 10 million is 3 months. We'll have to give it more time. Very true, but lets not forget that NSMBWII was also a holiday release which makes a huge boost almost every time.[QUOTE="wiifan001"][QUOTE="muscle_shark"] [QUOTE="wiifan001"][QUOTE="muscle_shark"]uhhh.... Also a 2D Mario game is always going to outsell the 3D ones. It is easier to play and appeals to more people. I'm going to guess SMG2 will top out at 10-12 million. Which is more than the first Galaxy but much less than NSMBW. Still a great number though.

same with the EU as well, is it not?Like its been said, it didn't come with the console everywhere and even if it did, it still counts as a game sale, because that may be the only way the game is ever released.Wii Sports is #5 on the list...

If Galaxy 2 manages to sell 10 million copies, calling the number "great" will be an understatement. It would suggest that Nintendo actually managed to pull off the task of bringing in some of the lesser experienced gamers into the fold and perhaps give the company some sort of idea of where to really go with this "bridge" game concept. On a lesser note, it would also be impressive because it's not always that a sequel outsells its predecessor by that much. :P

uhh... What does that have to do with anything?Other bundeled games can be bought actually in stores.
well
1 , not every one who owns a wii wants the game -it happens with all the games period -except packins
2 , its only 1 month old , or less game will sell more over time id imagine about 75 percent will own the game when the dust settles w 25 percent not wanting it or just renting it
if you think that sad ,,
you should look at other consoles -sony uer base of over 100 m that same 100 mil didnt transition to ps3 did they
