So i was looking around for a GC controller to buy online, and I keep finding these generic GC controller clones such as this one. Anyone know anything about these? I think I'm just going to get an original regardless but wondering if anyone knows if those were any good.

I don't know about third-party controllers but I do know memory cards of that kind are terrible.

1st party controllers are really the only way to go, but I really don't mind the gamestop brand gamecube controller. It's not too bad but i still prefer the ninty ones

The original corded controllers are the best controllers for the system. I wouldn't suggest anything else.

That's what I have. I also bought a longer wire. It's the best for the rumble feature.

Anyone know where to actually buy a Nintendo brand Gamecube controller? I can't find any in stores.

DO NOT buy one of those clones.

I've had atleast 3 of those break down on me. Get the OFFICIAL nintendo one. Only ones that work best. Im not sure where to find them but trust me, don't waste your money.

Yeah I agree. I've bought a few controllers from 3rd parties before and they all underperformed and in some cases just stopped working. The best controllers are the ones Nintendo makes. I strongly recommend finding those. They may be a little more expensive, but they never die. I've had one since I got my original GC in 2003.

for 5 bucks you can't go wrong. generally speaking i have never had any problems with 3rd party accessories, n64 controllers and memory card have worked fine forever. my friend uses 3rd party wii controllers and they are fine. but there's always a riskm right?

I'm always a little wary of 3rd party controllers. Most of them can be major crap. I'd just get an official Nintendo Gamecube controller. You can get them quite cheap now if you go to Gamestop. Got mine for like $15.

The extra price for a first-party hardware is worth it, because it lasts so much longer.

I bought a couple of those from a micro-play. They had those and icon "fighter" controllers. I asked which they recommended and they said they would probably go with the original. I bought both and only realized later that the nintendo look-alikes weren't made by nintendo. The c-sticks kinda suck and the analog sticks are a bit funny. If I play Super Monkey Ball with my friend's GCN controllers I do much better than with these. I use the icon controller for SSBB and it works well for that. I like that the Z buttons aren't "clicky" like the GCN controllers. The only problem is that the sticks are TOUCHY making it impossible to use for a game like Super Monkey Ball. Do not buy these.
