Hey, I couldn't find an answer to this question on the boards so I thought I'd ask....

I never had a gamecube and I'm looking to getting caught up on some games now that I have a Wii. Do i need a gamecube cartrdige to save gamecube game data or can I save it directly on the hard drive?

Thanks so much.

You would need a gc memory card. I don't think you can save gc games on the wii hardrive. For games, I would start with super smash bros. melee, RE4.....twilight princess?

You'll need a memory, buy the largest one from Nintendo, now is cheap. And try games like Pikmin 2, Killer 7, or Eternal Darkness!!

Regards!

Don't forget to pick up a wavebird... You'd hate to have to add some wires to the wii...

For sure, thanks guys. That's disappointing that you need a memory card but thanks for the help and for the game reccomendations.  I'm also pretty excited to play Windwaker. Hopefully this console gets more than one zelda game.

Best,
