Games like Pokemon/DQM:J?

I absolutely loved paying through both Pokemon Diamond and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. I was wondering if there are any good games that are similar to these two.

OMG. I just checked the website. When did it change to 20? According to gamespot, it is 40 but on gamestop it is 20... Sweet. Well, i know what I'm getting :)

Chrono Trigger is a good game but it probably isn't what you're looking for. Aside from the already mentioned Shin Megami Tensei game, the only thing I can think of would be Master of the Monster Lair. There really aren't all that many monster hunting/catching games on the DS though.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is pretty close. It has no multi player and it's an SRPG but you get to capture and fuse demons together and have a team of 3 demons. http://www.gamespot.com/ds/rpg/megamiibunrokudevilsurvivor/review.html?tag=topslot;thumb;2

I know I'm a little late, but I have Chrono Trigger DS and it is fanominal. There are a lot of added features from the original SNES version that just make it worth multiple plays. I first played Chrono Trigger for SNESa and have beaten it at least seven times. In my opinion it is the BEST RPG every made. Even better than FF. The story, characters, unique gameplay, etc., all make it so. My girlfriend actually bought me my own copy of Chrono Trigger for SNES for our anniversary for no small amount of cash. There's a reason why the SNES version is $150 most places. I also love Pokemon, and the DS version of Chrono Trigger has a fun monster training aspect added, but unfortunately it is not nearly as deep as Pokemon or DQM:J. I also have TWEWY, and I enjoy Chrono Trigger more, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, I hope this helped. Chrono Trigger is a great game, and is worth at least a play through.
