Alright...i have looked at virtually every other site at practically every Wii game review, and Gamespot (surprisingly) most always has the lowest possible score. I have been using this site and only this site for opinions on games before buying them because i'm 18, college-bound, and most certainly not rich. So, I have been using IGN primarily now...

Sorry i had to rant, but now to the question, are there any other trustworthy sites to get my Wii game reviews on other than IGN, or should i just put my trust in them?

Thanx

You see that bolded word? It says OPINIONS. That's exactly what these reviews are. If it just so happens to be lower than another's, than so be it.

I know the reviews have been weird for a while now but that is no reason to boycott the reviews entirely.

Notice nobody will criticise any high scoring reviews on their platform.

Just because re 4 got AAA score is great because it was great on game cube. But there are other games that we dont know if they will get a good score.Namely games like ddr or boggie or how about my sims or just even disaster, manhunt will they get lowerd? So we know re4 is a great AAA game will these new one will? We will see if gamespot is boycotting.

The way I see it, is that all of those reviewers have their tastes and distates, just like we all do. Reviewers are people too.

I don't understand why everyone gets so offended by a stupid number.

Don't like the review? To bad. It's called an opinion and thats what GS is expressing. And Honestly I think their reviews are acurate if not harsh enough.

The best way to boycott is to not patronize their site. Which is what you're doing.

Yeah, their reviewers are by-and-large out of step with real gamer's opinion, but just about any member of any reviewing media is. How many awards did that Gay Cowboy movie win? Yeah, people with "loud opinions" are basically ape****. Go play that AAA game Perfect Dark Zero to find out.

I picked up Scarface last week and have been enjoying it thus far, the complaints that Jeff expressed about the aiming/camera was very odd as I find it extremely easy to aim and control the camera. My only complaint with this setup is that sometimes the game takes control of the camera (which it shouldn't) I can control the camera really nicely and fast without "help". In Grand Theft Auto, your right analog stick controls both aiming and camera as well... So I'm a little confused why Jeff found the pointer functioning annoying when I found it to be mostly refreshing... I hated the aiming controls in Grand Theft auto... and yet no one seems to complain about the controls in that game and similar games being shoehorned onto a controller with two analog sticks.

reviews are there to help you decide on the game, and outlines the pros and cons. i personally check several sites out for a review before buying a game. or what i find more helpful is asking other forum members what they think of the game, etc. basically a reccomendation thread, but unfortunately were supposedly not allowed to start reccomendation threads anymore T_T >=(

What your looking for is someone to agree with you so that you can justify your prupose.

The people at GS are down to earth, if they dont like a game they will say why. Honestly I dont always "like" their reviews but I understand why they give games ther atings they do

I used to be signed up on GamePro, and not to diss them or anything, I just didn't like it there. Reviews weren't accurate enough. They go by every 5%, but on a five-point scale. Gamespot really delves into games and analyzes them inside-and-out, which is why games here take longer to review. Rightfully so, for the most accurate scores, of course, excluding the rare hiccup.

Gertsman complained about wii sports having you stand up to get the most out of the games. His name should be changed to Girthman. He is like the game reviewers that said ssx blur controls were broken then later it was revealed they hadn't played the game for more then 15 minutes nor went through the tutorials.

Quite a number of sites want Gertsman to be fired from gamespot since his reviews are incredibly biased. Read the budokai tenkaichi 2 review on the PS2 he **** about the wii controls on a PS2 review.

Well they gave Zelda an 8.8 which is just insane when it got high 9's at most other places including a 10 in GI.

there has been a few hickups (TP , SSXB and WWSM) but other than that it's not that bad, but yes IGN is better for Wii reviews.

You could already try deciding on your own what you like. Or either rent or use something like gamefly.

I only use GameSpot for the forums.

I use IGN for everything else since they get news faster.

I'm IGN insider btw.

I Find most of their reviews to be accurate. But still theres no reason to go **** because "ZOMG (a game) DIDNT GET A 10 WTF" seriously you sound like such a tool.

Gamespot gives low scores generally. There have been 4 AAA Games this year, 2 of them ports Warioware and Forza 2 being the other 2. They don't play the game for five seconds and go OH THIS IS AWESOME. They analyze ever single aspect of the game instead of judging it on first glance like so many of you do.

The reviews are consistent they just exspect more from devs then we are getting which makes sence. All raters say a game has to push the console but GS is one off the few that use that in there rating system.

Pretty tough to trust a reviewer that makes a fundamental error at the very top of his ****ing review (see Godfather not being a GTA like game) lol

Go to http://www.metacritic.com/gamesthey showall the major reviews fora given game, as well as an averaged "meta score" it is the best way to get the over all picture of a games critical-aclaim.
