What's wrong with the reviews here. There are so many great wii games that get such low or average review scores like fire emblem which got a 6.0 and castlevainia judgement, I know it wasn't good but a 3.0. Then there's bleach the shattered blade which got a 3.5 the game had its problems but that was too low.

Also the review score of the ds grand theft auto it's an awesome game but I don't think it would have gotten the high score if the gta name wasn't a recognized icon in the game industry.

What I'm trying to say is that I think game spot is a little biased and if I wanted to see all of this then I should have just stayed on G4tv.com

ps no xbox or ps fanboy's because I know some ignorant fanboy is gonna come on here and say its because the wii sucks. so please don't

I don't think reviews should be your only source when picking titles. I usually look at the users average score and read the reviews of users first. As for the critics reviews and scores/ratings I always pay attention to the averages not just one site :)

I believe Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility and Tales of symphonia Dawn of the New World should have got higher.

Oh well.

Sure, GS sometimes gets a review wrong just like all other review-sites.

I actually like GS much more than IGN. I rather have a harsh review were I can understand exactly what's wrong with a game than a site like IGN than constantly overates every game that has some hype.

GS is constantly attacked and called biased against the Wii, PS3, 360 and PC. That is however impossible. They are in fact much harsher and less forgiving. The question is would you rather agree with a review because it gave a game you like a higher score or would you rather agree with a review that doesn't lie to you?

EDIT: GS is not biased againts the Wii. There are just as many "bad" or "wrong" reviews for every other system.

Game reviews are nothing more than opinions, and the Gamespot reviewers obviously don't share your views. For the record, I don't agree with Gamespot reviewers either, though my opinions are certainly different than yours (I would have given Fire Emblem less than 6.0).

The best reviewer you will ever find is yourself. Try before you buy, best thing to do.

It's to be able to respond to statements like these that I made this. In short: no, there is insufficient evidence across the board that there exists any sort of systemic bias in any of the major reviewing outlets, GameSpot included, either for or against any of the three consoles.

I reckon Mario Kart should have scored higher and Brawl should have scored lower. I think a score of 9 for each is fair. I don't get why flaws in the game make the rating tumble whilst strong points only raise the bar a tiny bit.

You have obviously never played GTA: CTW, because that game earned every point it got.

Eventhough G4's reviews are out of 5, they are more accurate than Gamespot's.

I own the game and its just like any other gta game I have. Its a great game but as a person who has played all of the other gta games this one just feels the same and didn't really change the franchise besides the touch screen mini games ect and I think it got the high score just because it's gta.

Let's be honest with ourselves, there's no such thing as an unbiased review unless they don't score it. You should judge a game through demos of it, like gameplay videos and such. Otherwise you are buying a game blindly or based off of what other people tell you is good.

They do score wii games low but Gamespot is also biased against PS3 as well. Not to bring up other system's games but Hot Shots Golf, Ratchet and clank, Uncharted and Folklore deserved better than the 7.0-8.0 they recieved.

GameSpot always under-rate Wii games. Conduit wasnt great, and arguably it wasnt good, but it dosnt deserve to earn a 6.5.

On the other hand, Super Mario Galaxy got GS GOTY in 2007.

IMO a 6.5 is a good score for a subpar shooter. People seem to keep thinking of review grades the same as school grades. A 6.5 doesn't tie into a 65 D grade. Technically; a 5 is average. Frankly; The Conduit was an average game. About the same graphics as the first Halo on Xbox and average controls. Personally; I would have given Galaxy an 8.5, Brawl a 9, and Fire Emblem a 7 and I think that is being more than lenient.

I, for some reason, agree with the majority of the reviews. Sure they get it wrong every now and then, but shouldn't that be expected? I think GameSpot does a great job with their reviews.

Shadowtails9000

Actually, a 7 is average as far as video game reviews go, in that the average of all video game review scores comes out to about 7.

Gamespot always seems to be the oddball review when you look at all the different scores. And it happens with all the consoles (to some extent).

The Fire Emblem review, along with the Lost Winds review were just awful though.
