All they did was confirm with their seal of quality that the product will work on the Wii and work well.

Not Well,
But half a million, which is quite a lot compared to the effort they put into making the games.
Example 1 and 2.) The imagine series on the DS.
1.)

2.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=18135®ion=All
These are only 2 examples of that sereis, i think there are like 6 of those games in total
Example 3/4: The petz series on wii
3,) http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=12763®ion=All
4.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=12760®ion=All
There is also petz catz 1, and petz dogs 1 as well.
I know it isnt over 1 million in sales, but combined together with the little effort that is put into the games, they make a large profit
Do they actually sell well? Can you give a link?

Yep...
(On Ubisoft in 2008-2009 Q2)The company made €175 million (US $220.24 million), beating the previous year by a whopping 37%. With some big titles releasing during this time, such as Soul Calibur IV in Europe and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, It's no wonder they made so much. What's surprising, though, is that 39% of that total €175 million came from the DS, thanks to titles such as Imagine Teacher, My Secret World and PlayZone Sports Party.(Source)

(On 2008 Q1) The Games For Everyone brands including the Petz®, Imagine™ and My Coach series which represented 33 percent of sales versus 11 percent in the first quarter of 2007-08 ...Yves Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft, stated: "Ubisoft delivered a very robust showing in the first quarter of 2008-09 against a particularly dynamic market backdrop. This achievement was especially fueled by ongoing strong growth for our Games For Everyone range where we are continuing to strengthen our leadership position. We are notably very pleased to see our latest work – My Weight Loss Coach – ranked among the best sellers for the Nintendo DS.
Ubisoft is raising its guidance for full-year 2008-09 sales to approximately €1.02 billion ($1.59 billion) from the previously-announced €1 billion ($1.56 billion) as a result of the following factors: favorable market conditions for the video games industry, Ubisoft's solid first-quarter sales performance (particularly by the Games For Everyone range), and the positive reception given to the games presented at E3. In Q2, DS accounted for 39% of sales and Wii for 11%. In total, that's 50% of their sales from casual titles on Wii and DS. And it was the strong performance of their E for Everyone series of games that was largely responsible for their boost in profits and higher sales projections.
It even says in the fiscal report you cited that "This performance – which exceeded the guidance of approximately €160 million issued when Ubisoft released its sales figures for first-quarter 2008-09 – was primarily attributable to: (1) The successful launches of Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway™ and SoulCalibur™IV (Europe) for the Xbox360™ and PLAYSTATION®3. (2) Solid sales turned in by casual games including new titles such as Imagine® Teacher, My Secret World by Imagine™ and PlayZone™ Sports Party."

Its a poor performance, the DS is the leading handheld and naturally its their leading sales machine. The Wii is the leading console yet it bearly reaches 4th place.
Their Wii games consist of casual games, mostly games that come out on the DS. Forum logic would tell us that these casual games should be flying out of the shelves yet people dont seem to want DS games on the Wii.
Saying the Wii's 11% is justefied by the DS's 38% doesnt make sense since the Wii IS the market leader in home consoles. It should be atleast in 2nd, and it isnt. Their Imagine/Casual games arent working as well in the Wii as they wished
Wow...
Personally, I wouldn't want to have a party with *ahem* babyz in a video game environment just as much as in real life.
Skip, pass, get outta here!!!!!!!!!!!

It's only a poor performance under the assumption that Ubi is developing games for all those platforms at equal numbers. This is far from the case. Ubi makes way more DS games than Wii games. I doubt that Ubi's Wii games represent 11% of their game library.

I'm not shure how many games UBI makes for the Wii but i do know they make a hell of alot more Wii games than 360 and PS3 ones. I'l look that up if i have time.

Also ubisoft developed/published games on the PS3 and 360 like sould calibour, Tom clancy's rainbow six vegas 2, and asssassin's creed.
Lots of people bought these games which means that the PS3 and Xbox 360 game sales will be higher than the wii
Dont know how accurate Wikipedia is but i feel too lazy to look any further
2008 upcoming games
I count:
11 Wii games
3 DS games
4 PS3 games
5 360 games
5 PC games
One might argue this increase in Wii games may be temporary but honestly, by the amount of garbage i see IGN reviewing and knowing they ignore many of their games because UBI doesnt send them for review anymore, i'd say they do alot of Wii games. Mostly games you also see on the DS

Well, here is what I'm sure of, according to Metacritic:
Comparing data from the past 6 months (April 23, 2008 - October 23, 2008 because that's the date the fiscal report was released), 37 games were released by Ubisoft. Here is the breakdown: 15 DS, 6 Wii,5 PC, 4 PS3, 4 X360, 2 PSP, 1 PS2.
DS: 40.5% games rep. 38% profits
Wii: 16.2% games rep. 11% profits
PC: 13.5% games rep. 10% profits
PS3: 10.8% games rep. 20% profits
360: 10.8% games rep. 14% profits
PSP: 5.4% games rep. 3% profits
PS2: 2.7% games rep. 2% profits
Keep in mind this is a small sample size. If you can find a breakdown of Ubisoft's earnings per platform for the full fiscal year last year, I'll calculate that out.

The bottom half of that list makes me puke D:
I mean honestly? I would rather have them make a multiplat that is on all consoles for Wii, it would be better than this crap.

My point was that they release alot more Wii games then HD games and still cant pass the 360 and PS3 sales, even when the leader is the Wii, and by far.
They are trying to replicate their DS success., but in the end their Wii "support" isnt selling as they expected.
I love it
Honestly I want that game
Plus I also love when Ubisoft makes money. It provides Rabbids and Rabbids are good. That money funds other games I may want too.
Also the "Imagine" games on the DS are all about 6-7.5 with the exception of a few duds, they're pretty good for those interested in the subject matter.

It's not a lot more. Check the post of mine I quoted in this reply. Additionally, Wii games are faaaaaar cheaper than 360 and PS3 games to develop, so the profit margin is higher.Sorry I wrote "profits" there. It's actually "sales". So even when Wii accounts for 11% of sales and PS3 accounts for 20%, their profit margins can be about equal.
Also the "Imagine" games on the DS are all about 6-7.5 with the exception of a few duds, they're pretty good for those interested in the subject matter.

According to GameRankings, Ubisoft's average score with Wii games is 56.8%. Their average score with DS games is 59.4%.
From the perspective of a person who cares about the quality of their console's library, a company that's only going to almost exclusively churn out crap may as well not make any games at all.

Yup, pretty much. I never really cared for UBI's games but Jesus, what they do on the Wii is mind boggling :?
Seriously, they are competing with DATA and ZOO games

they cant pass the 360 and PS3 sales because the games they make for the wii are crap, while most games they make for xbox and PS are good.
Better games= more sales
