So I found these on Amazon and Ebay for really cheap. They are knock offs of the original GC controller design. The look identical, they just don't say GameCube on them. I was curious how they stack up to the real deal. I just bought a GC off ebay for quite a low price, but it doesn't come with a controller, so I need one on the cheap to hold me over until I can find a cheap Wavebird or a 1st party GC controller.

Here is a link BTW as an example: http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-Controller-White/dp/B0015GJMM0/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1217825067&sr=8-4

third party controllers? Eh they can be ok depending on which company you get them from.

Just wait, there's always something wrong with generic controllers when compared to the original.

I bought a couple Gamestop brand controllers shortly after getting SSBB. I definately prefer the Nintendo controllers but they do the job and are much cheaper than Nintendo controllers. All my old gamecube controllers are busted (including my wavebird, sadly).

Do not get them. They are bad.

My friend got two of them, and while they certainly look the part, they definitely don't feel it when you press the buttons, especially the Z button.

On top of that they are not sturdy, I had one less than a week and the control stick is already busted.

It varies per company. Some are quite good, others are bad, but in the end nothing best the original one.

be careful regardless. I have two slightly larger mad catz controllers, and while they work on my gamecube, they don't work on my wii. If u want to use them for SSBB, make sure they will be compatible with your wii.

I bought those peices of crap you linked to on the top of the page months ago. The Z button broke quickly on one of them, the A buttons cannot be irked to be mashed and the analog sticks are garbage.

Buyer beware.

I bought the same controller ur talkin bout and It is definatley a peice of **** in comparison to the legit controller. if you compare the length of the cable it is about five inches shorter then the legit one. the buttons seem extreamly unreasponsive and the controler is unlicensed, plus if you look at the screws they should be philips not tamperproof like all nintendo controllers now days. and the cord might have words on it unlike the official controller :)

in short it is a cheap wanna be GCN controller, and the people who make them should be nailed in the ass w copyright infringment

Around my area, you can get new platinum GC controllers from Gamestop for $25. It's not too bad of a price tag.
