Getting a DS lite for my upcoming b-day and a new DS game. Help?

Well, I'm gettings a DS Lite and DS Game for my upcoming b-day and would like some help.

I know most are the same quality, but are there DS'es you guys prefer? I'm thinking of getting either

- DS Lite Crimson/Black

- DS Lite Cobalt/Black

What do you think?

Also, what DS game should I get? I really liked playing Diddy Kong Racing at my cousins house but after reading the ratings, I'm worried it might get boring or irritating. So, what games can you reccomend are full-time fun?

1. if you are getting a racing game mario kart DS is way better than diddy kong racing DS

2. the perfect game to get first is New Super Mario Bros ; it is my fav game and won't get boring

3. blue and black is the best DS color, either that or just black

1) for the ds: just get your favorite color. easy as that

2)the games: might I suggest Castlevania dawn of sorrow, mario kart, or trauma center.

the bad thing about the ds's with the 2 colours are that the back of the ds feel really cheap...i think it might be made of plastic so i might suggest getting onyx black, polar white, or pink (if you swing that way).

definately get new super mario bros. Its an awesome game, A LOT of replay value, and it has mini games. It was voted best game on DS by a lot of people.

hmm i own a black ds and its great.

Games i would recommend: pokemon D/P (great long rpgs once you get past the kiddy exterior )

Mario kart, animal crossing, advanced wars, new super mario bros, mario 64, pheonix wright, FF3, FF:TA2
