Call me mad,  I'm getting a Wii, but I don't yet have any valid reason why

I had 2 gamecubes, (bought one, sold it, wanted another, sold it, bought an xbox, sold it) and I like nintendo's 'quality' feel with all the games and the warm fuzzy feeling of opening one of their budget new consoles.

So, when the Wii was coming out I got very excited, became a fanboy if you will. I am now going to get one in the coming weeks but looking at the current games (I have no interest in wii sports style games) I don't really have a good reason to buy one.

What games should I look out for in the coming months?  I may buy a 360 in winter for the big graphical war games etc. but quite keen on a wii for family use and less serious 'pick up and play' stuff with Nintendos quality touch on each title, and of course the legend that is mario (loved sunshine, back in the cube day)

Is Anyone else hanging around for the real games to begin?

If you're likely just going to sell it, like you've done with a lot of other consoles, then why even buy one? There's no games available for it that you want and you're likely just going to sell it for less than what you payed for it. So why not just let it sit on the shelf, waiting for someone who actually wants one?

Well, if you even read his post, he doesn't want one. He has no reasons for buying one, and is asking us to provide them for him. If you don't have any reason to buy the console, other than it is something new and exciting, then you probably shouldn't, because you're just going to be on here in a month with yet another one of those "I'm bored with my Wii should I sell it???!!!" threads.

Yeah, dont get me wrong, i kept them for about a year, bought many games, stoppe dplaying it for whatever reason, sold it on, then wanted the games back in my life!

After selling my xbox before christmas, I was expecting to get a wii on release but missed the boat bigstyle when I couldnt get hold of one.

Now, 6 months on, im getting a wii... but we need games!

I love the Wii. I like its concept, the controls on nintendo always feel 'right' I love Nintendo's 'disneyland' magic they bring to the end user, I'm just not being tempted by any games nt he shelf.  Wasnt there supposed to be like 60 on launch month?

Well, then I guess what I'm saying is...stop selling your consoles. You're spending a lot more than you normally would have to to play these games again. And don't buy a Wii if you're going to be bored with it. But right now I'm greatly enjoying Zelda, Super Paper Mario, Trauma Center, The Godfather, not to mention tons of awesome VC games. So, it's your call, really.

does Wii play Gamecube games?

If so, does it make them look better?

After having an xbox for a while i went and played mario on a GC and it looked...well... low res and untextured, when i remembered it as being glistening and full of sunshine!

In my opinion you can even buy a wii only for the big three(super mario galaxy, metroid prime 3 and ssbb). Next to those, there will be plenty of other proper games comming out, it's just a waiting game atm.

And yes, Im mainly only playing Zelda TP and GC games on my wii. But it just takes time...Like with every console launch:)
