Getting Ready For Pokemon Diamond

To get ready for Diamond i bought the Pokemon Sapphire game, I seem to be getting through it quite quick but my pokemon arnt advancin loads, would it be better to spend sum time advancing my pokemon or steam throught the game and advance pokemon later?

thats a tough 1. i beat all the pokemon games except crystal and sapphire was easy compared to a few others. if u could post ur pokemons levels and how many badges u have i could tell u if ur good or not.

I beat Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold and Silver. I never had Cyrstal, and Sapphire and Ruby were terrible compared to Gold and Silver

[spoiler] You could just get Kyogre (sic?) and whup up on the elite four with him... that's what one of my friends did, and he said it worked great. [/spoiler] Aside from that, why would you want to advance your Pokemon if you can just breeze through the game without leveling? :P
