i hope it gets good reviews this game looks extremely promising

It seems like its a game that tries to be awesome because thats all that HVS knows.HaziqonfirePlease remember those wise words, folks.
I think the game has some potential. High Voltage seems very passionate about making it so I hope they succeed in their vision for it.
/facepalm It's not like the world is divided between "awesome" and "artistic crap" and he wasn't talking about it anyway.Graphics look good, combat looks dodgy (pun intended) at the moment.
@Haziq, whats wrong with awesome? Not everyone likes "different" "artistic" crap.

This is the interwebz, there is indeed a divide in everything.
Face it! It looks horrible! I was looking at the trailer and thought...Wow...I seriously saw into the future and saw ign or gamespot giving it a big fat 5.0 calling it good graphics but horrible controls and boring gameplay!

Nothing's wrong with awesome, but awesome isn't offen something that's forced to try to be so. I think Haziq's point was that you just can't take something that you find extremely appealing and try to slap it on something else and call it a day. That's not to say that this is what HVS is doing in the big picture, but it helps if you have more going for your product than "we came up with this from watching *insert "awesome" move here*, so this will be just as awesome to play!" We all know that movie-based games have an untarnished record for being just as great as the movies, right? :P

Its not about that.
Its about them making the game look "AWESOME!" for the sake of being "AWESOME!"
Its the same reason why Transforms is an awful film because its all that Michael Bay knows to do with robots. "They're AWESOME! so thus I'll make them just be dumb robots and fight and be AWESOME"
It's still to early for me to say anything about game, only thing I have is that I like how it looks. I'm all up for a new fighting game and if this one is fun to play, i'll buy it.
graphic wise the game looks alot better then their other games. its not that generic, it has kinda like a good feel to it,
but gameplay wise the conduit and grinder are miles ahead miles i tell ya
Its just like Punch-Out, I don't see anything wrong it. You can't say, "The gameplay looks bad". From the word, GAMEPLAY, you have to play it.PicesOne can make a judgement from looking at gameplay. Now if you were to replace the word "looks" with the word "is" then that would support your argument. And so far the gameplay looks like meh judging by the vids.
Yeah the graphics look good but the animations are extremely clunky but I suppose that can be put down to it being early in development.
Anyway, fighters ain't really my thing, so unless it does something very unique with the genre I probably won't be picking it up.
I agree, actually, I expect every developer who puts the right amount of effort in their job, to succeed in order to keep the platform as a reliable investment and to keep seeing not only "awesome" standard titles but also "awesome" experiments like Madworld, Your Shape, etcI think the game has some potential. High Voltage seems very passionate about making it so I hope they succeed in their vision for it.

Wow! I think you've just insulted Next Level Games and Nintendo.
Gladiator AD is totally NOT Punch Out!! Your opponents don't have unique personalities, move sets, and visual cues. Punch Out is fast, timing and reflex based. Gladiator AD is the slowest fighting game I've ever seen. It makes turn based RPG fighting mechanics look fast and fluid.
i like how much detail that they put in the graphics thus far in developement i also like the concept. its rare that you see a game like this so it should get some notice as far people saying that gameplay looks blocky, you'll never know until you actually play the game.
i dont get why everybody is all ready killing the game when weve see only 1 trailer
im not going to criticize it yet
Its not a fast paste button masher. Its a slow strategic game or thats what the developer said its going to be. Im not makeing any judgments on it yet because its only 7 months in develpment. But so far im more exited for this game then grinder. Grinder looks like it has horrible A.I and the part where you are fighting the werewolf looks bad because all you do is shoot it while its attacking you. You can't dodge it or run away from it. but agein thats only my opinion and that is still in early devolpment too so who knows.
It looks like the Wii may finally have a decent fighting game.psychobrewThe Wii already has good to great fighters such as Mortal Kombat Armageddon (PS2, XBOX port I know, but it scored good) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (superbly rated), and we're getting Tatsunoko vs Capcom. The Wii has plenty of good to great fighters from the start.
It plays like a boxing game with weapons. I'm guessing no one here has ever played Fight Night, despite it's clunky mechanics the fighting is actually very deep and requires good timing if you play against someone who has some skill. Do people on gamespot forums have nothing better to do with their lives than bash every single Wii effort?
I've seen countless hate posts on Metroid Other M, New Super Mario Bros, Crystal Bearers, and not to mention The Conduit... It seems that a game has to be super creative or niche to even be respected around here (heck The Munchables get more respect around here than these games  ), doesn't even matter if the game is good or not it's only worth buying as long as it's super creative, sorry I guess I'm not a big enough snob or nerd to understand that.
It looks like the Wii may finally have a decent fighting game.psychobrewBrawl/Tatsunoko vs Capcom are/will be better than Gladiator A.D.
[QUOTE="psychobrew"]It looks like the Wii may finally have a decent fighting game.HaziqonfireBrawl/Tatsunoko vs Capcom are/will be better than Gladiator A.D. Brawl isn't your typical fighter. Tatsunoko vs Capcom looks like crap to me. Why do you feel the need to trash every game you don't like over and over again? You don't see me trashing Tatsunoko vs Capcom in every thread that discusses the game because I think it's an inferior product. The HVS hate brigade is old.

I'm not trashing it. I said it won't be as good as those two games, it can still score well. I mean, HVS claims they'll redefine the fighting genre on Wii. They make big claims - So, to me, because of that - I get to judge them based on what they've shown - and based on what they've shown, it looks decent at best.

And Capcom says Tatsunoko vs Capcom is amazing and it's straight out one of the best looking games on the Wii. These are big claims the game will not live up to -- I've seen nothing close to amazing and the graphics a mediocre at best. I think I'm going to trash the game and everything else from Capcom every chance I get because of these outrageous claims.Visually it looks amazing for a Wii game. Gameplay wise, it looks kinda boring. Nice to see though that HV is putting some good time into the graphics for the Wii lately with The Conduit, this game and The Reckoning.
it looks... shiny but you can cover a turd in tinfoil, it's still a turdAdmiralWolverin
^^yeah, i agree with this.
but actually, after you wrap a turd in tinfoil, it becomes a turd covered in tinfoil. it makes it a little better, i guess.
seriously tho, i wouldn't pick up a turd for a dollar. but i might pick up a turd covered in tinfoil for a dollar.
it makes all the difference... sorta.:P
Im not much for fighter games, but if they made this an online "make your own gladiator" type game with tourneys, team play, different challenges and so forth I would probably get it. Imgaine making up your own gladiator from wherever, using whatever weapons and armor, and your own free fighting style with WM+. Now imagine playing online against or with your buddies in war re-enactments the way they did in ancient Rome. Riding chariots, fighting bears/lions, even naval battle. There are possibilities to it as long as they don't go generic.
