so when i turn off my wii there is still a red light that stays on. lately tho the light is yellow and the disc slot glows. why does it do that?

disc slot glows because you have a new message and it is orange cuz that means ur connected to the internet

Yellow/Orange = Standby with Wiiconnect24 on, you're wii can recieve updates and messages while in this mode

Red = Standby with Wiiconnec24 off

Disc slot lowing = you've recieved a message or something though WC24

thanks is there a way to get rid of the red light? ive been turning the system off with the wiimote if that helps any.

Like with most devices that feature a standby light, the only way to get rid of it is to unplug the system.

But unplugging it will effectively disable your WiiConnect24.
