I use only the wiimote/nunchuk combo, really works well for my tastes. If you have a Class1c / gamecube controller, try it out! Maybe you'll like those controls. What do you have to lose...elimination to death ratio?
If you're not used to it, I guess classic controller is the way forward for you. Personally I much prefer the Wiimote/nunchuk combo. I think its the fastest set up.
you just need to practice. my first match of modern warfare I got killed like 6 times in a row. after a month, I get 18 kills 10 deaths. Then I bought golden eye, etered to the online and got 10 kills 4 deaths. everyoe was lvel 12, 10 13. just have to practice. Kills are easier in golden eye
Yeah, FPSs are the most competitive online genre. You're playing against people who have the time to put in 4+ hours on a daily basis. They've had a lot of practice, know the maps inside out and have subconciously developed 100's of tactics. You can start out expecting to be any good unfortunately.
I use the classic controller with increased horizontal sensitivity so I can turn faster, and it seems to work out all right. I'm all right with the wii controller, but I think it takes more effort to point :P
