My daughter who is five is wanting me to buy a game for her.  I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on game I should buy for her?  She wants ice age does anybody know if this game is easy enough for a five year old to figure out?   You should she her on Wii Sports,  she is really good she bowled a 262, the highest score in the house by the way.  Some suggestions will help out  thanks.

I have a 5 year old as well and her favorite game is Wii Sports.  Other than that there aren't a whole lot of games out that are really good for a 5 year old right now.  Maybe Ice Age or Happy Feet, but I haven't played those games yet so I don't know.  When Mario Party comes out that may be a good one.  My 5 year old likes Mario Party 6 (which is the last one I bought).  Mario Party 8 looks like it could be easy enough for a 5 year old, but still enough fun for the older players as well.  I'd keep an eye out for that one.  You might also look at the Gamecube games that are out there and you could probably still find some for that to play.

I rented Ice Age out of sheer curiosity a while back. I found the control scheme pretty advanced for a game with a younger target audience. Don't get me wrong, I actually thought the controls were great (reminded me of Zelda type controls) and it was pretty fun. They just might be a bit much for a 5 year old. You could pick up Ice Age for the GC instead.

Yes, these games are great for kids. They love this stuff. Sometimes kids like Avatar and the Japanese anime styled games aswell. Or Dragon Ball Z. --just some ideas.

Don't forget about the Virtual Console games.  If your kid is willing to play something from the days of NES, there's a ton of stuff you can have them play.

Is warioware easy to get the hang of?  Because I would love for her to pick that one that way I'll have a game that I can play to.

I personally thought it was easy to get a hang of (If you have the patience to perfect your forms), but for a five year old I think they'll be fine if you help them out.

I think Sony is not the best choice for a 5 year old, isn't it too fast? you need good reflexes for the jumps and all that, or well, that's what I think, I don't own the game... yet :P

I worked at Nintendo World and got to show most games off to tons of people, including little kids. So, hopefully you'll take my advice...

-Spongebob - not as easy as it sounds
-Monkey Ball - deceptively difficult. The single player game will be too difficult for her, but she'll enjoy the minigames. However, there are better minigame-filled titles out.
-Ray-Man - a lot of fun for everyone. There will be some difficult games, but she'll love the ones she can do.
-Happy Feet - she'll enjoy this, but unfortunately there isn't much to the game.
-Ant Bully - I couldn't figure out what to do, so I'm not sure she will be able to.
-Wario Ware - should be a good title to get. Kids really get into it.
-Excite Truck - the only racing game you should buy. The others are terrible.

As you probably know, Wii Play comes out soon. You should get that. So, to sum up: Wario Ware, Wii Play and Ray-Man are your best bets. If she likes racing games, get Excite Truck. If you can get Happy Feet for under $30, go for it. Unfortunately, I was not able to try Ice Age.

Manhunt 2 is coming out soon, or COD3, Red Steel and Godfather is coming soon too they are perfect games not to get a 5 year old, I'd say try out Rayman might make her laugh, but yeah.....i actually think you should let her play Manhunt 2 for a few minutes see what she does lol....you never know she could grow up to be a ruthless assassin, they don't show you that on the child trust fund adverts....

I must say it's a pretty bad time to own a Wii right now, since there aren't many games to choose from, but I think Mario Party 8 will be perfect for your daughter. The game is said to come out March 5, so it's not that far away.

Send her over to http://www.liquidicelabs.com/wiiportal/ on the opera browser. Lots of those games are very simple and addictively fun.

Sorry to repost on this but I thought I would update you guys on this.  I went and let her pick a game out and she picked Warioware.  She loves this game, she is also very good at it.  I also thought it was a very good game. Thanks again.
