So i'm disappointed to say that im trading in mario kart. it just didnt do it for me. but anyway, is there anything i can still use my wheel for? anything fun? if not, i can just give it to my cousin who has mario kart, or trade it in for like 2 bucks... is the wheel still useful to me?
The wii wheel is a gimmick. It's a plastic shell for the wii remote. You can just have your wii remote on it's side for raceing games, or use a gamecube controller for some.

No, it actually is much better than steering with just the remote. I personally have wheels from intec, which cost $10, each. The Wii Wheel is not very comfortable. The truth is, however, that using those wheels gives you much better control over your steering. I've used my wheels for Pro Street, Mario Kart, and Excite Truck!
I'd keep the wheel if I were you, I mean, it may come in handy for a future racing title and it gives you better handling for games like Mario Kart and Excite Truck. Though I do agree that it's nothing more than cheap plastic. Though if you're not going to get much of a payment from it for sending it in, why trade it in?
I don't use the wheel for Mario Kart, but it can be used in other racing games, and games that use just the wiimote tilted sideways, like Super Paper Mario, Wario Land Shake It, or VC games. If you haven't tested it on a game like this before, I'd suggest you do.
