Well I was at Gamestop yesterday and, not that I really trust them or anything, but I have been hearing this a lot lately; Guitar Hero 3 for Wii= $90 Every other console(including PS2)=$100. And it comes out 10/28. I'm not just going by the website, I actually talked to the guy, but then again it is gamestop after all. I'm still gonna preorder mine though.

That's funny, I was just talking with my roommate yesterday and he told me when he was at EB that the guy said GHIII is coming out in October also. Of course the guy also said the Manhunt 2 is still comingout, I believe July 10 (or whenever it was supposed to) and they are taking preorders. Apparantly the guy did not hear the Rockstar decided to put the game on hold and figure out what they are going to do.
But back on topic. Does anybody remember how much Guitar Hero was when it came out for the PS2? I know it's been a few years, but my logic is this. The PS2 games cost 50 bucks like Wii games, so if the game did cost 80 bucks for that than I think 80 or 90 bucks for the Wii version of GHIII would be reasonable, especially considering they are making the controllers wireless.

I'm gonna call it that the PS2 and Wii version will be the same price.
I think $90 on the Wii version sounds like a reasonable price to believe. GHII for the PS2 cost $80 with a wired controller, so I'd expect a wireless to up the price a bit.Mr_Doodle
That'd be true of other consoles perhaps, but remember that Wii accessory controllers can be made wireless automatically by hooking it through the Wiimote. There's no need for any additional HW.
Sounds like a lot of extra work. Then again, using the guitar to navigate the OS on a Wii might not be that fun either.
I hope they make it wireless and able to communicate to all three systems. They all use wireless right? So going to a friend's house would just be like, "hey, bring the extra axe!" and then it's done...
I'd only cry foul if it costs the same as the others, the Wiimote's technology is supposed to make the guitar uber-cheap. Need to find out how much it will be in the UK first, but isn't it better to just get the original on PS2?tomarlyn
No, it's the same on all the consoles the only thing different will be the delivery system if they go with a full guitar on all the consoles. Since Sony and Nintendo have the same system there's no secret cost cutting advantage if there's not an add on for the Wiimote.

That could work, or their gonna do it like 360s wireless, and just have it synk in.... possibly... the wii remote idea is good though i mean, it would work, and they've already made a prototype thingy for it... so it might be.
But the developers would need to know the communication types. So why not include functionality across all platforms, more R&D and front end cost, but a safer investment in the long run since you won't have a run on one particular system controller and not be able to meet demand (similiarly to the systems when they were released).
Some people will think it's cannibalization, but I think it's smart business. Make a controller for all three consoles and you'll have more people saying "man, those guys know how to give me what I want! I'll buy from them again!"
o.o
that's waaaay to expensive for me. I refuse to pay that much for a game when I can just go to my friends house and play the PS3 version :D

On top of that they never actually said they were going to use the Wii Remote to make the controller work. IGN had a mock-up that included a space to put the Wii Remote because they thought it would be better, but the actual company (Activision, right?) did not officially say if they were or were not going to use the Wii Remote.
Even so, to make good sturdy guitar "cases" is going to be somewhat expensive, considering the oil prices and how plastic needs oil and all the crap.

It'll be wireless, that's why the price is so high.
