Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii replacement disc update

Here is the e-mail I JUST received

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii replacement discs. The game has been approved by Nintendo and is currently in manufacturing. We expect to have the replacement discs available in February. Once we have the discs, we will contact you and then proactively send you a prepaid return envelop with a game exchange claim form. You should return the completed form with your current copy of the game. Once we receive a completed claim form and game, we will send you the replacement disc. We thank you for your patience and support.

I am not really ok with this. What this says is. Because we messed up the game you will have to go without having the game to play for however long it takes us to get your copy and send you out a new one. Why can't we give the product UPC and have the replacment disks sent first then we send our disks back, meaning we don't go without having the game for a problem that is not our fault.

P.S: This e-mail they sent also included the e-mail of every person they sent it to, while this is not a huge issue for me, iit's not something the company should be sending out for privacy reasons

Wow that is messed up those guys were so eager to release the game they sent out a incomplete/currupt/glitchy game when they did. That is not respecting anybody's privacy. They should fix that. That's weird. Good luck with the wait!knightsofwar

What does privacy have to do with releasing the game with an error? It was an honest mistake that they made that they are properly taking responsibility for and replacing the discs at no cost to the user. And the game wasn't incomplete, corrupt or glitchy. There was a mistake when encoding the music and that is that it was accidently encoded as mono as opposed to stereo (or surround, however they do that with pro logic II, especially considering most music isn't done in surround sound.)

Would the damage disks cause the 2nd players sound to cut out in multiplayer?Game_Druggy

The problem is that the songs were encoded in mono sound so you have the same sound coming out of each speaker. The problem is really noticeable when you are playing multiplayer because if the one person uses star power the sound is off. Also, I think when you use star power by yourself the sound is affected by it.
