Make sure you don't accidentally hold the whammy bar down when you attach the wiimote.chanceman23
Yeah, and if it's not working, d/c the wiimote and reconnect it making sure that the whammy bar isn't held down. It should work because the same happened to me and that helped.

Yeah, I had it upside down on my lap and it was pushed down when I connected. Now I just leave the wiimote in the guitar. I want need to take it out until SMG comes out.
My controller isn't working hardly at all. I generally always get 4 and 5 stars on Hard (on Guitar hero 2) but I couldn't even make it through a song on Medium without it screwing up. I don't know what's going on.
Another weird thing is that my Yellow and Blue buttons have been swapped. When you press the Yellow button, it corresponds with the Blue one on the screen, but something is still screwy. I thought someone might have an opinion on this retarded problem.
My roomate and I have given GH3 on the Wii atleast 15 hrs of play time in the last 2 days, and we've had no problems at all. The only time I thought there might be an issue was during the Slayer song, but I think that was moreso me being rusty than it was the remote.
Anyone having problems in the Guitar Store or Guitar Center option where you can buy items? Everytime i go to the option, it lists a bunch of items i can buy (like guitars, outfits, etc). Once I select a category to browse, the game starts going nuts and scrolling through all the items like crazy. If i push up on the strum button, it stops shortly, but it keeps cycling through all the items at lightning speed. It doesn't seem like the strum is stuck b/c it only happens in the guitar store option, and not when i'm playing the game or accessing other options. Anyone else having this problem?
Essentially, it acts like the strum button is being held down so the items in the guitar center/store are scrolled through really fast. Sometimes the back button won't even work to exit out, it requires me to press the back button repeatedly until it exits the guitar store mode.

That happened to me as well. All you have to do is d/c the wiimote from the guitar and reconnect it to get it to stop.
My general rule of thumb is if there's a problem with the game not recognizing something or going haywire in a menu, just d/c and r/c the wiimote.
Well it seems like there are a lot of people having a range of problems. I feel I however have the worst controller I've read about so far.
I barely get into a game or even past the main menu screen and my controller goes crazy. There are two main things that go wrong for me.
The strum glitches and the menu selection repeatedly loops through the menu. Even after recalibrating, by re-connecting making sure everything is in its normal position, strum, analogue stick etc...
If I use two or more things at once and sometimes just one, the whole guitar will completely freeze and I have to unplug.
If by chance I do get to start a game, I only manage to play about 5 notes then the guitar freezes again. It's totally unplayable. Taking it back today.
I would love to open her up and try and work out what the hell is going wrong but I don't want to void it's warranty
You people really need to learn about why you don't push down on a controller joystick while plugging it into a game system or when you turn the game on.
There is a whammy bar calibration option in the game menu. Other issues people are having make sure the contacts in the guitar neck aren't dirty and seriously learn how to put the wiimote in without touching any of the guitar fret, strum, or whammy bar. It's not impossible in fact it's fairly easy to do.
