I was thinking of getting Guitar Hero On Tour for the DS but was discouraged by the fact some people find discomfort in the peripheral. Is it really a painful game to play?

I got it. After about five or six songs straight my hand hurt a little. But I don't get hurt when playing that often. Just do a quick stretch of your hand after each song and it should be fine. By the way, GS score-6 IGN score-9.:question:

Ahhh... different people got a different point of view of the game. I'll say GameSpot is quite hard on the reviews and I somehow agree with Guitar Hero On Tour getting 6. BUT! Final Fantasy Tactics A2 getting 7 is UNACCEPTABLE!

It does not hurt after you play it for a while, you find a way to hold it properly and your set.

The only time the game didn't heart me was when I was sitting on a beach chair, resting my left hand on my gut. If you're overweight, it's easy to find a comfortable position. Otherwise, it's painful to keep your arm straight as the game instructs, and not keeping your wrist straight can be excrutiating.

just take a quick break after every 4 or 5 song and you'll be ok.

Guitar Hero On Tour got a poor review from Gamespot but relatively solid reviews elsewhere. Actually, I'm inclined to agree with Gamespot on this one. The very idea of staring at a small colorful scrolling screen playing a rhythm game with an awkward peripheral that is generally considered uncomfortable at best, with a track list of 25 songs that would never have made it to the original Guitar Hero is... unappealing.

It's good to see Gamespot isn't as in the corporate pocket as I thought it was after seeing 10/10 across the board from all major gaming websites for GTA4... ridiculous lol

I trust IGN with scoring, but I think Gamespot is more organized and has a better community. So I'll get this. But first...

How many songs does it have?

And is it Single card play?

If I pay an extra $20 for the guitar strap, they better be planning on making some more guitar hero games.

Edit: OK, only 25 songs, but thats not bad considering the size of the DS cart. I would actually perfer another guitar hero without all the band and audience dancing behind the oncomming notes, it would make the game neater, and better looking. Plus the graphics are terrible anyways. With the larger DS carts comming out, more songs could be squeezed in too.

I doubt its possible to be comfortably possessed, but that's pretty much what you need to be in order to play the horrible songs included on the game.

Gamespot 6 while IGN gave it a 9. 3 point gap is pretty big.

what does that have to do with the thread but i have to agree it deserves a 9.0 at the least but i think if you dont play nonstop you should be okay
