I just purchased GH WT and am having issues getting the mic working along with another instrument. I have no problems playing the drums and guitar together, but if I try to play guitar with mic I can't get them to work. I only have 2 wii remotes at this time. I'm wondering what u need to do in order to get this to work. The only way I can use mic now is to turn wii off and reboot with game with no wii remotes turned on, but if I then try to activate wii remote to try and play the guitar it won't turn on. The only way I can get other wii remotes on is to press home key and go into controller setting and reconnect each controller, but then mic wont register as being connected. If I boot up with say the guitar the game says there is no mic connected. I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but 4 of us last night spend over an hour trying everything we could and still couldn't get it working. Please offer any help!!! Thanks!!!

That sounds like an odd problem. I know that if you reconnect Wiimotes while on the screen where everyone is picking their instruments, it messes stuff up. As well, switches remotes about during a song will also screw things up. But... Try having both remotes turned on in the home menu. Have one of them connected to the guitar at that point too. You should be able to point with the one unconnected Wiimote and use the crazy stick with the guitar. At that point you would just have someone go through with starting up the game/going into the band play/and playing. Have you been able to use JUST the mic? As in, does the microphone work? That might be why.

Yes the mic works fine by itself. But we can't get it to work along with any other instrument. If everything works like it is supposed to, what steps should you have to take to get a band setup and working. Should you just be able to boot up the game and press a button on each remote attached to an instrument and be up and working???????

I think you need another Wii Remote. 1 for each peripheral, I was told.

Yeah, but he's got two remotes, and only wants to use two instruments at once, I believe. Well...What I've always done is just turned the Wiimotes on before going into the game, and even connected them to the proper instruments then. Go to quickplay/career and go to band...Then press A or the green button/pad. Never had any problems.

Well maybe the Guitar is pre-set to the first controller, the drums to the second controller, and the mic to the third.

Maybe there's a way to change it in one of the game's menus.

Your correct I'm only wanting to use the mic and one other instrument. Also from my understanding you do need a wiimote for the mic which doesn't make any sense since it is connected through a usb cable directly to teh wii. Also the instruction manual seems to be useless for this game!!! Thanks for everyones input so far, I appreciate it.

You need a Wiimote for the mic because you need to be able to select things in game, such as difficulty...or menus...Whatever. I don't know what the problem is. =/ Dunno what to tell you.

The game is actually at my younger sisters house and I"m not over there now, but she just called to say they can't connect any wiimotes to teh system now at all no matter what game they are playing. So now I'm assuming they have bigger issues that are not related to GH WT but are probaly what are causing my issues with the game.

Uhh, sometimes the Wiimotes lose what Wii they are sinked too. You can try resinking them or just wait for them to become resinked, which will happen eventually, I believe.

We gave the Family a World Tour set for X-mass. Cool stuff. I have tried to practice on the drums and on the guitar. Today I have kids of a friend over and they wanted to try to play as a band. Drums, Guitar and vocals together. Unfortunately we never got to play even the drums and the guitar together ... let alone usinf the mic.

We have 2 Wiimotes. They work fine in any other game where one needs two. From that I conclude that they should be synchronized.

In short: we start from scratch. We start the Word Tour after havng inserted the two Wiimotes. One in the guitar, one in the drums. The Mic is connected to the console by a USB cable. We get to quickplay and choose band. So far so good. Then we need to select rock artist. Both (the drummer and guitarist) selected their rock artist and both got the "Ready" sign. We tried to set up the vocallist (their seems to be place for 4 rockers but we could not get access to the other 2 areas).

What then? The + button (continue) does bring us further. Hitting the green drum doesn't bring us further either. I think we tried all combinations of bottons. Does anyone know what we do wrong?

And ... does one really need a third Wiimote if themic also should work? (I agree with some others .... the manual is NOT of much help. That's weird actually).

Kind regards,

Menno 8)

When ever you make a band, only one person is able to pick the song list. Whenever I play it changes from time to time.

And yes, you need a controller with the mic to go through menus and all that.

You need a remote for the mic. It's dumb, but them's the rules. It's actually because if you don't have a remote, you can't press any buttons and advance. In short, you need another remote if you want to play all 3 instruments.
