The question is more about, what music do you like better. The games pretty much play the same, the biggest difference is the music. So, what is your favorite music? That should help you in getting the version you will like the best.

For example, I have both Guitar Hero 3 and Gutair Hero World Tour. There are tracks from both that I would love to be in the other just so that I would not have to switch disks to play them. I can't decide which one I like better as they both have music I like a lot and have not even though which of those two has the most.

Though some may like the songs on 3 better, World Tour has more songs and the ability to D/L new songs.
