Hardcore Wii Gamers

Are there any hardcore wii gamers, cause nintendo's goal was to support both hardcore and casual gamming. Im proudly a hardcore wii gamer as well as casual, but i feel the wii isnt lacking at all in the hardcore department. Brawl, Re4, Mohh2 etc just keep racking up the hardcore list for wii. And im refering to wii only gamers, not 360 or ps3 thankyou cause thats lack of faith in nintendo.

If you were a true hardcore player you'd know it's the style in which you play not the games themselves.

I have pretty much all the systems, that doesn't mean I "lack a faith in Nintendo". I actually know quite a few people who work there, very proud of them, not to mention Nintendo (America) is like 20 mins away from me. I've had the Wii since launch. So I'm really quite confused on how it's a lack of faith.

Why has Hardcore suddenly come to mean online FPS. Thats why everyone things the wii isnt hardcore enough because they all think shooters + online = pro. Why dont you mention its lack of RPGs or its lack of hard puzzle games. The Wii appeals to the people who can see the gaming industry as almost an art form not just an adrenaline rush.

I have been playing games for about 18 years now. I have owned many platforms and countless games.I play on a regular basis. I love many different types of games and try to experience everything about a game when I play it. I know quite a bit about the gaming industry and games in general.

I think that pretty accurately describes a hardcore gamer.

you may be correct, and i have no idea what your tattoo is. but i know people who got masterchief tattoos. in 20 years i think that no one will be playing halo let alone know who masterchief is. and i find my friend who got that to be impulsive.

I don't know why certain people associate "hardcore" with FPS and online games. To me a guy that could be able to spend 4-5 hours a day playing cooking mama is hardcore (and a masochist but that's a question of taste).

Anyway I deteste the terms hardcore and casual, they don't represent well the situation and are often used as a form of elitism with to put others down or demark themselves from the larger group. Someone that has all gaming consoles can be catalogued as a harcore gamer, but now let's say that because of his age or situation (married, work,...) he just can play a few hours a week, that makes him a casual. Now which of both is he? The reality is that such things as hardcore and casual do not exist we are all gamers, the only thing that exist is a hobby that for us is videogaming, like others would spent their time painting or something else. The time you spent exercising your hobby is the only thing that changes with time cause life takes us all through different paths, I for one regret that I don't have as much time as when I was a teen to play. I only dispose of a few hours in weekends to play. But no matter how long you play, the only truth is that whenever you have sparetime or the oportunity to do your hobby, we all play videogames, and that's what makes us GAMERS. And what makes me angry is the pejorative use of the term casual, if by casual people refer to the new gamers that were brought by the Wii, let me just say don't be so elitist cause we were all debutants at some point.

So many people I talk to these days if they game is not straight up kill, kill, and go online to kill your friends... then its "weak" and "childish". I swear sometimes I think games like Halo, Call Of Duty 4 (which I like by the way) should not have a story mode, so those "hardcore" people can save time and go right to what they want. Mindless killing. Virtually.

As far as I'm ever concerned the Wii and anything Nintendo makes is the core of what gaming came from and is going.

Its Nintendo for God's sake, they've mastered games.

heres the def for hard core gamer, someone who can beat super mario 1 with out dying no warps. someone who beat zelda with everything, someone who gets all items in a metroid game, someone who beat kings field for playstation, someone who played eternal darkness 3 times to get all the endings, someone who plays a game because of the fact it needs to be beaten, thats hard core, getting online and pwning at cod4 isnt hard core, being a halo junkie isnt hard core, now doom, that was hard core, but the way people act like playing these fancy shooters makes them hard core, i laugh. yes i play cod4 online, and its awsome, no doubt, but i still pop in the snes and kick but on link to the past, or super mario world/all stars. i still consider the metriod prime saga to be the greatest shooters of all time. period, no better bosses or better game play out there than metroid for a fps, hard core isnt about what games you play, its how you play them. to a hard core gamer, the game is more than just a way to kill time or people, its a challange, any one ever play oddworld: abe games? those were pretty hard core to get all the blue green dudes. seriously, you cant call a system hard core because it has shooters, go play zack and wikki, go play mario galaxy, go play twilight princess, those cater to the "hard core gamers" even though they might not be titles everyone thinks of, metroid 3 was wicked, i am done ranting about hard core, because if you have to say im hard core, you arnt, its something you do for you not for showing people how good you are, and people who go im hard core annoy me... that and people who breathe uber loud into a headset when they play games... thank you nintendo for no chat in games.Twisted-Ice-God

lol, that cracked me up cause its so annoyingly true. But people do that with cell phones too, so I wouldn't say thats a reason to be thanking nintendo for no chat options.

better graphics and physics are just the end result of better technology, not better or worse games... thats why if you give super mario world to a kid who has never played it, it still rocks... wow nintendo did that didnt they, it was those gba games they seriously over priced lol... people will always use the term hard core for people who want to feel edgy... so let them... maybe they will comit gamer suicide from depression that games will hit a graphic platue...
