www.totalconsole.com

The hinge on my DS Lite broke and it is just out of warranty(September), so this place seems to have the cheapest replacement shell(And awesome looking ones at that) Has anyone here used this site before? Is it trustworthy? Any suggestions of where else I could get a replacement shell cheap? I'm not about to pay $70 to have Nintendo fix it...

No, I have not used that site. If you have money to throw away, why not buy a brand new DS?

Well, no, I don't have money to throw away. I wanted to buy the shell for $20 and fix it myself instead of sending it to Nintendo to fix it for $70. The fact that I can get it in a neat color is just a major bonus.

Then do that. Hope it works out for you.

That's the same brand of shell that I got, but the clear blue one. It was only $20 at totalconsole.com though.

It just felt cheap though, the holes where the power LED's go though and the microphone hole were still covered somewhat, so I had to cut it up a little bit to make it work right. Another problem is that it only comes with the shell and the buttons(including d-pad, shoulder buttons, and all face buttons), which means if you lose anything from your DS, you're screwed.

I didn't really like it after I got it together, just seemed like one of those cheap aftermarket accessories. I ended up taking it back apart and using mostly the original shell, except for the broken piece.

As for the comment on how do you break the shell, the hinge is broken on it, and it's not an uncommon issue. Just search the board for Hinge problems and you'll see that it's pretty widespread with DS Lites.

No, I haven't used that site, I think that you should just call Nintendo, is more reliable.
