Has Mario finnished his long run or does he have some time left?

Hey guys I was just wondering if you guys thought that Mario is nearly finished his life in gaming? I just recently payed attention to the releases of mario in the past in comparison to the new releases and recent releases. It just seems that over the last couple of years mario has only had a couple of releases per year. For example 2005 saw 13 mario titles 2006 saw 7, 2008 only saw 3 along with 2009 only coming up with 3 aswell. But what seems worst is that Super mario galaxy 2 wont come out (in uk anyway) until either september 24th or 28th and the reason this is being held of so late is because they wanted to separate NSMB Wii meaning that there probably wont be any games in between or after galaxy 2. I know that it is not sure none will be realeased in 2010 between galaxy and NSMB but it is a logical guess and even if it is wrong then it is still not going to be a lot of games in 2010 for mario.

Anyone who likes mario may be quick to say I am wrong but I love mario!! I dont want him to go anywhere but do you guys think that this is a hard truth to face?

(BTW look at the recent mario titles galaxy 2, NSMB Wii, new play control tennis, mario kart wii, mario party 8 they are all sequals or in one case a remake it seems they are even out of ideas with some exceptions)

1985 saw only two mario games. Out of them, one was a flop. 2009 saw 3 mario games, two of them were a success and the thrid was moderately recieved. Mario sits on the top of the gaming industry, and my, what a view it is :) Don't worry he's not going anywhere!

I LOVE mario so hopefully we will see much more mario titles so I guess you guys are right and hell maybe mario games these days just take a little more time to make. :D

Yeah, games just take longer to make now then they used to. It's not just the case with Mario either. They may be slower, but they will continue to make Mario games for a long time.

Nintendo isn't even sloing down the released. With all the sports games he's been in, and the RPGs, we see more of him than we did in the NES ans Super Nintendo days.

Mario is a gaming icon. Even if Nintendo went belly up, someone would buy the rights to Mario and continue to make games with him. Mario will live longer than any of us.

Mario has plenty of time left. Mario will stay around as long as gaming keeps on going. Making games take a lot of time now but he'll stay around for generations to come.

If anyone of you think Mario is going to die anytime soon, u need to rethink ur opinion because fact of the matter is, hes not going anywhere. YES it is a fact lol. Mario haters wish he was gone because if he is gone then their favorite IP's like Master Queif might have a chance to actually become something worth looking at.

NSMB Wii's and Galaxy's sales and success tell me Mario won't be dying any time soon...

Why should Nintendo drop Mario? It's like saying why should Microsoft drop FPS on Xbox 360? Both questions have the same answers.
