I've owned a Wii since day one at launch. But the name still hasn't caught on to me....

it's so simple to say, and save from some illiterate kids pretending to know english, you can't pronounce it wrong. it's catchy, and everyone knows what you're talking about when you mention it. i really like the name.
it's much easier to say than "ecs bocs three sixty" (or three hundred and sixty, if you're masochist) or even "pee ess three".
Looking back at it, I thought it was stupid but it proved to be genius. It's an amazing product name, simple but it caught on quick.
"Nintendo Revolution" thank god was only the code name as it would have been the most generic and forgetable home console name to date. Not to mention all the extra syllabols it would tack on.
Personally I beleive "wii" was the perfect fit to the console for many reasons and I remember hearing/reading that amoung the reasons for naming it this the 2 i's are suppose to symbolize two people chillin' (lan multiplayer) which nintendo is all about. Kudos nintendo.
I like it... but it must get confusing in french households since the word for yes is, well......we/wii.
I was a fan of the name the day Nintendo announced the official name.
It wasn't the name I would've chose but I saw where they were coming from and accepted it.
More llike urinating at the competition which it doing.No.
It still sounds like the act of urination to me.

I like it, but it doesn't really matter, I call it Nintendo anyways like I have every other Nintendo console.
"Want to play Nintendo?"
"Which console do you have it on?" "Nintendo."
"Whatcha doin?" "Playin Nintendo"
funny, the only nintendo system i ever called "a nintendo" was the NES... with the exception of the "super nintendo", since, you know, you're kinda forced to say it :P N64 was always "the sixty four", gamecube was... gamecube (DUH) and the wii is the wii. game boys, regardless of type, will always be gameboys and DSs are DSs...I like it, but it doesn't really matter, I call it Nintendo anyways like I have every other Nintendo console.

I would have to pick "I don't care".
I don't find it particulary interesting or amusing and don't joke about it (except when topic about the possible name of Wii successor are opened).

You would never say that. :PI like it, but it doesn't really matter, I call it Nintendo anyways like I have every other Nintendo console.

ah, i forgot about handhelds, every nintendo handheld is a gameboy to me :P
you get used to it but i still think nintendo could have stuck with revolution. However it is not as bad as the gamecube which was going to be called dolphin untill a few weeks before the release , so its not so badpepsisafcit was never going to be called dolphin just like the wii would never be called revolution. those are project names. just like the PS3 title dark souls was "Project dark", and Monster Hunter was the project name (ok bad example, since they said they were too used to calling it that to bother with coming up with a new name)
