I tried using my HDTV cables for the first time and they made like the top of my t.v. screen go crazy.  I changed to all the correct settings and it's still nuts.  I bought the ones at best buy and I figured those ones where ok.  What kima ****

Are you talking about component cables? You need an HDTV/EDTV to use them.

If you DO have an EDTV/HDTV, are you connecting the component cables in the right order?

Yes I have an HDTV, and I put them in the right order.  I guess I'll try my other t.v. and see what happens.
