The President and CEO of Nintendo of America said recently that "It all come's down to finalizing the peripheral." I think thats sounds like were getting it soon, but not in time for Brawl.

Not officially announced, probably in development. Either way, it wouldn't enhance Brawl at all.

Don't know about needing them for Brawl. But in games like MOHH2, a headset would be very useful. You don't have to stop shooting/moving around to send a quick text message on the game's message system. They could have an antenna that plugs into one of the USB ports on the back of the Wii and the headset can be wireless. Power could come from a AAA battery that is inserted into the headset earpiece. That way, the small battery keeps the headset small and lightweight.

Only thing a headset would enhance is Brawl is smack talking. Quit being ignorant, you know I'm right.

only thing I can see slowing it down is the fact you would have to plug it into the Wii mote, making it so you cant use a classic controler or the nunchuck. Unless they let you plug it into the the Wii itself... I dunno, im no expert thats for sure lol

The Wii supports bluetooth so I'm sure you could really easily connect a blue-tooth headset wirelessly.

if they make a headset, i am 100% sure that it will be connected in one of the usb ports. no doubt. however, i want you to think about this for a second. SSBB. Fun game, yes? ok...now: i'm willing to bet that a majority of people playing are either kids, immature preteens, and immature teens/adults. Are you SURE you wanna play online using a headset when most of the time you'll just here whining and moaning and misuses of curse words? i sure dont. keep it quiet, is what i think. i just hope they can let us have our own SN for use online like GH3 or Mario Strikers or Trauma Center

Absolutely! One of the best parts about Smash Brothers games is the smack talking. Having 4 friends playing at once is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. If Nintendo doesn't take full advantage of the online capabilities with this game I'm going to be sorely dissapointed.

Why don't you think wireless is an option? And thats a pretty brutal generalization, you have to be immature to play smash brothers? Just stop...
