Hey guys just wanted an opinion over which you think I should get for a long ass trip across America. The prices are pretty much the same so I'm not worried about that I'm going soley off the games. I played gold back in the day. Normally I'd say go for the new one but I was kinda partial to the pokemon I saw in them... they seemed kinda lame. I dunno I just wanted to see what yall think which one do you feel is better and is it a lot of the same thing in the remake of the old ones so it won't feel fresh?

Thanks guys

Black. It's just the natural evolution of a series that GameFreak that was nailed down so well, as I've heard. Plus, you won't miss events for it then, especially if you're traveling (that is, if you care).

But yeah, Black. You could buy HeartGold later, buy Black first.

I agree go with Black. If you know Gold, its basically the same, just revamped is how I would put it, why not get a game that is newer and costs just about the same as an older game?

i love black and white's 3D and the fact that it actually has a structured story, but i also hate the story and all the characters. However, i think black and white are a good evolution.

However, HeartGold and SoulSilver seem like thye have better presentation in the menus.

Black and white's menus seem more convoluted and less structured. The battle menu is also ugly as hell. also, Heart gold had pokemon following you and the menu was conveniently on the bottom screen without pressing x + you could run all the time without pressing b.

What i am confused at is "Was black and white made before the other two?" It is better in some aspects but also regressed in some aspects. Personally, i prefered Heart gold. black and white were better evolutions on the series over plat and that generation. but something about it just seemed missing.

o ya, about which one you should get...

heart gold and Soul silver just was a better experience for me, but if you want something newer in terms gameplay or story, black and white are defintely the way to go, but as always, i really love the fact that gold and silver get to go on back to the kanto region, making the game just seem way longer.

Going back to SS after beating Black, I find most of the game feels clunky.

Black and White will give you the most up to date experience, but any game out of that list will be more than enough for a long trip...assuming you don't get bored of playing the same thing over and over :P. Interestingly enough, on Amazon.ca Pokemon Heart Gold is more expensive than Pokemon Soul Silver and both of those games are more expensive than Black/White. Probably because of that pokewalker thing-a-majig I guess.

B/W Is more fun... But damn those Pokemon are ugly.

I'd still go with B/W. It's still fun.

While Black and White are revamped and stuff...I prefer Soul Silver/Heart Gold.

Why? Cause I am still a Gen I and II guy XD

I'd take HG/SS over B/W anyday. HG/SS take me back to the good old days of when I used to play Pokemon as a child, B/W having boring towns and Pokemon.

I've owned one version from each gen starting with Red and Blue and i find Black and White the best versions so far, right now Black is my favorite game in the series. Sprites moving, some camera movements Infrared connection through the Cart, 3 on 3 battles and much more.

I would probably get Black/White. It was a hard decision, because I loved Gen II a lot, but the new Gen is just really fun and awesome.
