Firstly its my first time here, so hi to everyone who reads this and thanks for having me.

Can anyone answer whether you can use any wii compatible microphone with rock band? I am looking to buy one but not sure if it'll work or if rock band needs a specialised one. Any help will be blessed.

Just an idea, but I would suggest waiting for Guitar Hero World Tour for the Wii. Rock Band for the Wii is just plain awful. You get none of the features that made the 360/PS3 versions good and you are getting a port of the PS2 version since that is all the Wii can run. The graphics and songs have been very compressed and are worse than the PS2 version. The Wii lacks a harddrive meaning that you will get no DLC. Also, online play has been left out. The only good thing the game has going for it are the redesigned drums that are more sturdy.

rock band is the best game out for the wii right now, someone saying it is awful is just being stubborn, everyone loved guitar hero 3 and it is ten times better than that, people are complaining because you play through a setlist, thats what you did on guitar hero 3 and people liked that, this has 4 instruments, i dont care whats coming out in the future this is one heck of a game, and dont think its gonna jsut end with the new guitar rock band will come out with something new and people will jsut keep flip flopping, ut honestly if you like music games and have friends to play it with dont hesitate, its my wiis most played game, the ign review is just terrible, they gave the ps2 version a higher rating when there the exact same except the wii version has 5 more songs, all they talk about is the other version and how you cant play dress up and create a player, if you want to create people go play ims, if you want to play the best music game out there, which i playted on xbox 360 and wii i did not notice a difference, the drums guitar singing it all plays the same, i dont see how that could be bad, people just want so much these days you think in a time where the economy is bad people will be happy with anything but there selfish, you cant play games you bought yesterday you just countdown to another one, guitar hero world tour, no one is gonna play it when the next version of guitar hero comes out, and same with rock band, people dont care about gameplay, one kid even said on the boards for rock that te most important thing in the game, is downloadablt content, character creator and then band world tour, those are all nice but what if you all that but terrible gameplay,i mean every song in the world to downlaod, create any person but when you play the game it just doesnt work out right it terrible gameplay, is that what people want, graphics, HD wide screen, they just want to look at something, people are so ungrateful and that guy on ign who reviewed rock band is one of them, i mean there giving you extra songs on discs "but you have to stand up and put the disc in" how lazy can you be pretty soon we are gonna be complaining that you have to use your hands in video games, were so spoiled and we always want more, if you cant appreciate a good game like rock band on wii with great gameplay, and one of the best multiplayer experiences then shame on you, oh i remember the kid from the forum said online play is the most important thing, the game requires 3 friends if you want a full band i mean come on, lets start to enjoy games for what they are not say i want this i want that i want i want i want i understand there is bad games but people want perfection and they always want more every game ever made is missing something, like a character creator or something pointless, rock band wii plays great drums are amazing singing is great gutiar is great its all there just go buy it and enjoy it, i know you will if you want to

omg your post is a work of art. everyone just stare at the wall of text for like 15 seconds and you will start seeing cool things. Awesome stuff.

The game is cool. But the wii version is stripped down too much for me to buy it for $160.

Don't waste all the money on a stripped down version of Rock Band when there's Guitar Hero: World Tour right around the corner with all the features intact.

Rock Band is the best game out for the wii right now. Someone saying it is awful is just being stubborn. Everyone loved guitar hero 3 and it is ten times better than that. People are complaining because you play through a setlist, that's what you did on guitar hero 3 and people liked that. This has 4 instruments, I don't care whats coming out in the future, this is one heck of a game. And dont think its gonna just end with the new guitar, Rock Band will come out with something new and people will jsut keep flip flopping.

But honestly, if you like music games, and have friends to play it with don't, hesitate. It's my Wii's most played game. The IGN review is just terrible. They gave the PS2 version a higher rating when they're the exact same, except the Wii version has 5 more songs. All they talk about is the other versions and how you can't play dress up and create a player. If you want to create people go play Sims, if you want to play the best music game out there, which i played on Xbox 360 and Wii, get Rock Band (my add)

I did not notice a difference in the drums, guitar and singing which all plays the same. I don't see how that could be bad? People just want so much these days! You think in a time where the economy is bad, people will be happy with anything. But they're selfish, you can't play games you bought yesterday, you just countdown to another one. Guitar Hero World Tour, no one is gonna play it when the next version of guitar hero comes out, and same with rock band.kevster1287

It wouldn't let me post the rest of the edit of his post :(

Yeah, you could call me a jerk, but that is much better and actually uses periods for the end of a sentence instead of commas. I just felt that it had to be done.

Now, after going through that and reading it, kevster1287 obviously has no problem with developers skimping out on the Wii versions of games. There is absolutely no reason to do that, especially considering Guitar Hero World Tour is going to have all the same features that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are going to have.
