If you mean that the scratch is so bad to the point that it is deeply engraved into the DS shell, then there is no way to fix it except replacing the DS plastic casing in its entirety.  I know of websites that sell DS enclosures, but it would also mean you'd have to be able to take apart your DS in order to replace the casing.  I'm not sure about repair shops, your best bet would be to notify Nintendo, but I wonder what kind of excuse you'd have to come up with for them to replace it...If it is under warranty that is.

This is a perfect example of why NOBODY touches my DS. People just seem not to respect things as much when it's not theirs.

I totally agree! With the exception of my boyfriend and my one friend who has a DS and is just as overprotective as I am, I never let people play with mine. I don't care if it sounds selfish, I have spent a lot of money on it (games, accessories etc. not to mention the system itself). If my friend dropped it and scratched it, they would be buying me a new one! Make your friend replace it!

Getting a new enclosure is not that hard.  You cand find them at online import shops and on ebay (or the like).  Sometimes you need to find a broken unit (mabey some putz cracked his screen or dropped it in water, who cares) buy it cheap and salvage on an auction site and salvage the case.  The only thing you need is a #3 tri wing screwdriver.  Those can be a bit hard to find outside of online import shops.  It's only used on the external shell.  Once you have that you will only need a small jewlers philips screwdriver for the circut boards.  Just swap out the parts in the case andyour done.  It's a fairly cheap way to get a differnt color DS.  It's not hard nor does it cost much.  It only take a bit of patience in getting the stuff and take your time in the swap.  It's pretty simple and straight foward.  The only thing I suggest is you keep a small magnet in a bowl to hold on to the small screws.  It helps ensure minor probles dont become a major pain in the butt (ie. spilling a dozen very tiny 1/8" long screws on the floor).  You may also want to take said mgnet and rub it along the length of the screwdrivers 20-30 times each.  This will help the screws stick to the driver and make it eaiser not to lose when taking them out or putting them back in.
