I heard that Resident Evil Revelations was available as a demo for the 3DS. So, naturally, I got really excited and went to a wi-fi spot to get the demo. I got the 3DS connected to the wi-fi, went to the 'download play' section, clicked on the 3DS titles and it said no software was found... So... what's with that?

No, you have to enter the eShop. Once you are there, search for the word "demo". "Download play" is for multiplayer games. And hey, you could read the instruction manual of the 3DS too.

It's not like the DS demos. You have to go to the eShop. The Revelations demo should be the first thing that comes up on the eShop

I know, I could have... but everything manual wise was thrown out... I keep reading/hearing about this e-shop, but I don't see it anywhere on the 3DS menu... Where do I find the e-shop?

You didn't do the firmware update from June of last year when the eShop was added? If you haven't follow these steps: http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/system-update

WOW! THAT MAKES SENSE! Thank you so much! I got the system in July, and I think I was going to update the system, but I wasn't able to connect to the internet at the time. I didn't think anything of it really, I was too excited to play Legend of Zelda. I guess I totally forgot about it all this time to update the darn thing. I'll have to leave my house and find a wi-fi spot to do the update. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

No problem :) It's gonna do some changes to your 3DS. The Revelations demo is over 200MB so you may be a while in the hotspot, make sure your 3DS is fully charged or you take your cable. While you're on the eShop you might want to check if Four Swords is still free, there should be a 25th Anniversary Zelda section in the eShop.

His instruction manual would say nothing about downloadable retail demo's or any game demo's from the eShop.

wait, does this mean you didn't get your 20 free ambassador games?! there were 3 zelda games in there too, but you needed to connect to the eshop prior to the price drop to be eligible.

But he would know what Download Play is for.
