Hey, I just got a DS Lite and I played it for like ten minutes BEFORE reading the manual and realizing that you are supposed to charge the battery BEFORE you play for the first time.....now I am worried that I have compromised how my battery will perform....has anyone experienced this? Thanks

I did that with my Lite and my regular DS and they are both fine...I dont think it is anything to be really worried about.

They tell you to charge beforehand because the DS Lite could have been in the box for a long time and half the battery ran out or something, and they don't want you to get a bad first impression of battery life.

Well if that's true, then I was just pointing out something, that doesn't make me a jerk. DSChicky's the jerk for calling me a jerk haha.

If you only played it for ten minutes, then I wouldn't worry.  If you played your DS Lite until the charge died, then you could've possibly messed with the lithium battery's memory, but it's hard to say nonetheless.  Lithium batteries are a cool, but strange technology, and they can be offset by premature charging in many instances.  In your case you should be fine, assuming you let your precious charge fully before you endulged the greatest gaming experience available in the market today.  Nobody can blame you for playing first, since the DS is truly enticing, and begs to be played.  Enjoy your new system.

Thanks.  You're the first to acknowledge this, which makes me assume that the majority of members are too young to "get it."  You made my day.

I assume you mean "Crazy Fresh!" Cause that's exactly what it is.  Peep this, I be the freshest cauza my avatar.  Let it be known, I have the ballz to admit that I know every lyric to Ice Ice Baby (97% of the population know the lyrics, but only 3% admit it).  I can't erase my past so I must confess, I was all about the ICE when I was 11 years old.  He was my idol, and I still do his dance in front of the mirror when my roomates leave for work.  This helps me face the day, and starts me off with the confidence it takes to survive a day in retail.  Strangely, in comparance to the customers I deal with on a daily basis, I am quite normal.  Now you can be scared.

Pff, I've liked your sig since I first saw it. I'm still amazed by how good A-ha's video is.. It was made a long time ago.. I can also squeeze in that I love Hotel Dusk's graphics. I'm currently about 3 hours in the game. It's awesome.
