Hello,

We have heard from various others like you letting us know how they felt regarding Nintendo's implementation of Friend Codes in the Wi-Fi Connection service for Wii. I want you to know that we appreciate your passion and concern. Let me assure you that your concerns have been heard and will be forwarded along. As always, keep an eye on our website (www.nintendo.com) for the latest developments in Wi-Fi gaming as they are made available.

That was the response I got. The original message I sent was this:

The DS is a great system, but the idea of individual friend codes for the system is annoying at best. Now we're hearing that the Wii will do the same thing.
The Wii already has a built-in friend code system, with a built-in friends list. There's no reason, or excuse, not to use this feature for Wii's online games.
It's obvious enough that this response will be disgarded with the thousands of other voicing their disgust at this news, but if Nintendo were to ever listen to their fans, that time is now. Nintendo has adopted a philosophy of quick, easy, and intuitive, and title-specific codes go against this philosophy like a samon during spawning season.
An online plan with title-specific friend codes is one that deserves to fail. Hopefully you at Nintendo can correct this mistake before it's ever made. Maybe we'll luck out...*sigh*

Well when people seen the PS3's batarang controller and freaked out about it, they changed back to the DualShock, so complaining to Nintendo is a great idea. You should consider sending complaints often, really.

Exactly, it's not like you've got anything to lose really, by complaining.

I think Nintendo should use a combination of the Wii number and the friend codes. You should be able to play against all of your friends on your friend roster, but, if for some reason you've already maxed out your roster and mostly everybody on the list doesn't have the same online game you have, then the Friend Code system could be a back-up feature. Not a dominant feature to the Wii numbers, just a back-up.
