I have a DS Lite since lunch and even if i like many games it have as of today i i haven't been able to enjoy it like i should or want, not because the graphics, just cause i find ituncomfortable to hold and play.I don't know if its me or what but i really don't like too much the way the D Pad is made, from the texture to how loose it is and doesn't stay firm to the fell of itplus i don't like too muchthe plastic exterior.

So to get to the point i want you to tell me if the matte finish of the DSi feels a lot better when holding? how are the buttons? Are they better? what about the D Pad? is it and fells better? how comfortable is the system in general compare to the Lite?

The DSi has:

- Superior matte finish that feels great to the touch. Console doesn't get sweaty and smudgy like the Lite's glossy finish.

- Superior controllers. They are not flimsy as is the case with the DS Lite's. They are sturdier and have a clicking sound, i.e. a je ne sais quoi that just feels right.

In general? That is certainly bound to opinion. If you can't let go of your GBA games then the Lite will probably be a better option, if you don't care about such a trivial thing, then the DSi is a much more superior console; Nintendo DSi Shop, built-in Internet browser, superior Wi-Fi, Wii-like menu, hot swap (meaning that you don't need to turn the DS off every time you change a game), SD card slot for storing games/music/pictures, camera, in-game brightness adjustment, slightly larger screens without sacrificing portability, thinner design, etc, etc...

So the d pad and overall systemis more comfortable?

Indeed. You might want to check some hands-on videos to get a better idea or better yet try one yourself, but they are much more superior and durable.

I agree with gacs_25. The buttons are much nicer. Sturdier and feel better, sound like the improvevment you're looking for. The matte finish is nice too, even though I have put my DSi in a metal DSi gaurd case, which I like for the slight added weight and appealing look. The DSi shop, slightly larger screen, and system menu are all definetely worth it.

The lose of the GBA slot was not trivial for me, but neither was the lure of the DSi. So, I upgraded to the DSi and picked up a used backlit GBA SP for my GBA games (but you could keep an older DS for that too, but the GBA SP was cheap used). But thats if GBA games are important to you. The GBA SP worked out better for me, since I can player GameBoy and GameBoy Color games on it too, when I couldn't on the DS or DS Lite.

DSi Buttons are ALOT better than the lite's. And yes it doesn't have a slippery feel anymore, it's kinda like sandpaper. Some hate it some love it.

Sandpaper-y? In my opinion, it can relate more to frosted glass.
