Oh lord.
Already starting with their ridiculous promises?
How long before everyone stops taking them seriously?
There's also this declaration:
Our characters, environments and animations are simply amazing.HVS
I half wish their games would fail just to give them a slap in the face and get their egos back onto the ground. :P
um, if noneof us are interested in the game, who is it aimed at???? :?
it's certainly not going to be played by the same people who by carnival games and the like.
They're Digital Design with bigger yapsJaysonguyYeah really. At least Digital Design doesn't come out and pretend they're developing high quality games.
I half wish their games would fail just to give them a slap in the face and get their egos back onto the ground. :PGabuExI feel the same way. They need a reality check.
Meh, Im sort of disappointed. This game is not really my type. I don't like brutal fighters. But it's still cool to see them supporting the Wii. Hopefully this game succeeds, because it seems alright so far. I just won't be picking it up...
didn't bother to read the interview, but from the pics i could say this game doesn't look bad at all.
Eric: Think of Gladiator A.D. as the distillation of everything that made Conduit what it was. With fewer characters in smaller environments we are able to get more detail. In addition, we are utilizing our imposter system to get the crowd reacting to the player's action. Watch them throw objects at the ill-favored gladiator, as well as stand and cheer with large hits, or boo and jeer when the player uses cheap tactics.
I think that sounds pretty interesting. Never saw/heard of a fighting game with a crowd that can interfear with the gameplay. I've heard of enviroments doing so, but not crowds. We'll wait and see.
It still tickles me that HV uses IGN to reveal games. Free advertising I guess.

You know what I really can't wait until The Conduit is releashed and proves to be a good game just so you, alexsays, and jasonguy are all slapped in the face big time for belittling a dev that actually wants to make good mainstream games for Wii...Wait, is this a 2D fighter? If so, ewwwwww... I hate 2D fighters :P
If not, we'll see. I'm trying hard to ignore the BS they are spouting and what they have done with The Conduit and judge the game on it's own merits. I have to say, they make it mighty tough.
EDIT: OK, it's a 3D fighter. Kind of ewwwwww.
It has been in development for only 7 months, so it won't look great to begin with.
Time is needed to polish the visuals in the game.
Would have preferred it to be an action/adventure type of game over a fighter, can't wait to hear what the other one is about.

So what do you call all the games they made for the Wii so far?
Practice? lol
"Well those were crappy because they just weren't trying yet"

Again how do you even know how The Conduit will turn out? Do you have a crystal ball? I'm more apt to trust the possitive previews from PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY PLAYED THE GAME, than negative fanboy talk from the most opinionated person in the world.[QUOTE="umcommon"] You know what I really can't wait until The Conduit is releashed and proves to be a good game just so you, alexsays, and jasonguy are all slapped in the face big time for belittling a dev that actually wants to make good mainstream games for Wii...Jaysonguy

what other games have they made for the Wii besides Gyrosphere? and Animals? I thought all the other games were for the PS2/Xbox

What about High Voltage's OTHER GAMES?
You know the ones, the pile of suck they've released so far
The ones that weren't finished and such, you defend those how?

Have I once defended the junk license games they did in the past? No. An I saying Gladiator AD looks great? No (I haven't seen nearly enough to jump to a concussion). All I'm saying is I trust professionals who have actually had hands on experience with the games more than people who haven't.what other games have they made for the Wii besides Gyrosphere? and Animals? Gyrostarr.
Evasive Space.
High Voltage Hot Rod Show.
VIP: Casino Blackjack
None of which have been impressive in the slightest.

Mainstream?
A brutal 3D fighter is mainstream? Yeah you need to check your definitions.
And I'd much rather just have good games. They keep saying they're capable of making one but I haven't seen it.
[in Posh English accent] Oh dear. I do believe this isn't quite my cup of tea. It's funny how a few months ago I wanted the more adult games but now I think excessive gore in games is ridiculous. I'll take the regular games any day now.Ehh... can't say this one interests me much.

Only game I was referring to is The Conduit, and yes FPS games are mainstream last time I checked. I'm gonna log off, chill and forget how much I disagree with 2 people on this forum.[QUOTE="danger_ranger95"]what other games have they made for the Wii besides Gyrosphere? and Animals? lmao, I totally ripped apart Gyrostarr's name, whoops! BJ was a Wiiware title that I heard was turd material. I haven't heard of their other projects. I'll have to check them out, I guess.
Maybe I'll have to get a job at HV after I graduate, and turn them around!

Oh well, the good news is, if MadWorld is any indication, this game will sell horribly. Hopefully High Voltage will get a reality check sometime down the line.
man, june 23 just can't come soon enough. not because of the conduit itself, anymore. i just want this mindless dumb discussions to end.
Look at that isnt it beautiful. i cant wait, im pumped

with only 7 months of work on this....the only thing I see that is horrid...is the characters skin. They have some time if they try to hit that Q1 release (if they stick to that). Just smoothing out is all that looks to be needed imo.
