I thought the Wii had Mii's, something Xbox or PS3 couldn't touch. Now Home has not only made next gen Mii's but they are giving a MMO setting to do stuff.........

What are your reactions to this and what do you think Nintendo should do?

I'm not a fan of the realistic looking avatar that Sony is going for. As far as looks, I prefer the Mii's. I like the cartoony look better than the realistic one. A more realistic cartoony look would've been better imo.

But as far as everything else goes, big lobby, own apartment, organizing play sessions, downloading games...etc, yeah that's a step up. Both Live and now Home are on another level and I think it's time for Nintendo to move forward as far as their online plans goes beginning with the complete destruction of friends code *shakes fist*

You're absolutely right, Nintendo has to move forward especially with Sony announcing HOME.

Nintendo needs to step it up and really start pushing Wii in terms of its features. We have the Miis, which are great, but right now they have no real use. IGN's recent discussion on the Wii's interface brings up more issues Nintendo needs to deal with.

Nintendo should not be laying back and acting cocky just because the system is selling very well.

It may not be a 'Mii-killer' but it absolutely cancels out the advantage Nintendo has with the Miis, and quite frankly, I think they have gone beyond the Miis. Same goes with Microsoft's advantage of Xbox Live with achievements, lobbys etc...

If Sony lives up to what it's promoting, I think it blows what Nintendo has out of the water. Hopefully they can step it up with something useful or entertaining outside of useless vote channels and parades.

The Home setup is clearly superior to Nintendo's online effort, but I don't see it as a 'Mii killer'. My non-gaming girlfriend created a Mii for herself, and plays Wii Sports Tennis. If/When I get a PS3 she certainly wont be chillin' with her clan in a virtual den before having a quick blast on Warhawk.

Nintendo wasnt the first to invent customizable little avatars to play with... i mean come on. If anything Sony is making a little mini second life. I think it is an awesome addition and wish the wii had something like that, but then again thats the story of nintendos life, to come up with some decent ideas and totally screw it up and make it useless ie: miis and online wifi games. Its awesome how Sony does it and makes it totally awesome, lol.

PS: Most people like to have a more realistic picture or avatar posted of themselves through the internet as proven on myspace and all those social websites. Nintendos mii feature is a joke with barely any customization and realism.

it's the best online meeting interface I've seen and yes it killed the miis or maybe they killed themselves...nintendo has to come up with something....and fast...

PS home is a neat concept. But really I don't see the point in having a virtual home that i have to pay for. Doesn't it seem redundant to be able to watch videos and music in your virtual home when you can just do that for real in your actual home?

Playstation are just copying everything that other systems are doing. They need to take risks and do something new and worthwhile, like Nintendo did with the wii. Once Wii's controller was revealed, they altered theirs to include some motion sensing. Nintendo created Mii's, so Sony had to copy that as well, only trying to make it better. Sony are stupid for this reason. Sony feed off of other systems, and think they are better because they steal other peoples ideas and try to perfect them. Do something original!

Why do they need to do something original when all they need to do is take one idea and expand further on it?

It's worked for the last two generations.

Nintendo needs to focus more on moving forward with the Wii rather than whining about Sony stealing. They should be focusing on pushing the Miis beyond what is already offered, which isn't much. There's a lot of potential still left with the Miis, hopefully Nintendo will push it further.
