hooking the wii up to the internet

i just bought a wii and am wondering how to hook it up to the internet?

my computer is in a separate room and i was going to run a phone line to the wii and hook up a modem and router there

i have dsl

any help would be appreciated?

Um, well then don't post here. I prefer a wired connection with the Wii Lan Adapter. I bought it at Gamestop for $29.99, and it works gr8. You just plug it into the back of the Wii into the USB port, and if you have a long enough cable, you plug it into your DSL modem. I haven't had any lag on my Wii with this, though I'm not against a wireless connection.

If you have wireless router...would you just need the SSID to access and that's it?dkeils

If it's encrypeted then you need the WEP key but if it isn't then just simply search for an access point in the Wii settings and you should be set.

why dont u guys just buy the nintendo wifi connnector and connect it to ur computer? no leads and cables all over the place.

i would agree with that exceep that its been discontinued!!!! so sad i've been trying to get internet 4 3 weeks now!! im soooo bored without it!!! excuse me im gonna go eat some comfort food.......:(
