I am going to be standing in line this weekend at Best Buy on Sunday to get my girlfriend her Christmas present. Best Buy's ad says a minimum of 18 per store. The weather is not in my favor in Indiana...Rain/Snow and high for the morning is in the mid 30's. I figured I would go stand in line at 3 am and the store opens at 10 am. With the minimum being so few and Christmas being soon I figure the earlier the better. I figure I will stay in my car until others start showing up. And buy some heat packages for the standing.

She has been wanting a Wii for a short time so I thought I would get her one. Then this summer when we move in together she will have have a Wii and 360.

I am going to pick up Wii Play because of the controller but what other game do you think she would like...remember this is for a casual gamer...she has a DS and loves it. She will not want Zelda, Meteoroid, or Mario. Any ideas as far as games for her? Anyone have any horror stories about buying their Wii?

well, good luck getting a wii. i waited for mine for 7 hours at wal mart, but we were inside the whole time so it was all good. :P dude, im pretty sure you girlfriend can play mario galaxy. it's pretty easy. even my little 9 year old sister got hooked on to it. give it a rent a least. remember, one of the best games of all time. she will like all those party games, like warioware and cooking mama games. they are pretty fun so they are worth checking out. have fun! pretty sure you and your girl will be on wii sports that comes with a wii and will be playing it for awhile cause bowling and tennis are addicting!

I am sure she would like Mario but she doesn't really want it now. I would LOVE to get Mario! I have enjoyed all the games. So I will get Mario at some point but not now. I don't want her to think I bought the system so I could play games on it. Haha

No doubt about Wii Sports. That is a great game for introducing the controller and the Challenges have replay value as well.

It is well worth the price dude! And yes, chicks love Wii. My fiance is HOOKED on the Wii, Mario Galaxy 24/7 over here, and she's downloading mad NES games to relive her childhood :)

The price does not bother me its the fact that it will be cold and raining/snowing and is around everyones Christmas Shopping time. That's what sucks because anyother time I would not have to wait in line for at least 7 hours.

Sorry to bump this, but even with the Wii's popularity, do you really think it's necessary to get there at 3am? I plan on going to BB this Sunday morning also, but I was hoping along the lines of maybe 9am, an hour before they open. Maybe I'm being ignorant, I dunno. :P.

But from what other people have told me, I wouldn't really have to get there at 6am or something like that. But again, I might take a chance. Who knows, maybe by tomorrow night, I'll be willing to go even earlier just in case.

I have heard 6am but I am not going to chance it because this is the only thing she wants. So I want to make sure I have it for her for Christmas.

I'm in michigan and wait outside all night 8 hoursin the cold black friday for a wii. If I were you you'd better get thier ealier if you want to be sure of getting one. Take a blanket and warm clothes and a friend or you'll be sorry. A friend is good incase you want to go get something toeat or drink. Oh and the wii is worth it I'm so gladI got one. I'm usualy into action games and other platforms but the wiimote is cool. I never thought in a million years I'd like wii sports. I hated golf before I got a wii I just bought tiger woods 08 because it's actual fun.
