NOTE: This question is probably going to be very hard to answer since the question is so specific but here goes. Ok, the time is 8:40 p.m. and i just got through asking Jeff Angel SOME (keep in mind some, not all) of the questions i needed to go through such as "Why hide cash in my room?", "Why he hid the gun.", and "Ask about his real name". I really don't remember what questions i asked him specifically because it's been a couple weeks and i'm really stuck and cannot progress further at this point. So, i asked Jeff A. some of the questions and it stopped me in the middle and i read online that i had to go down to the lobby to get something first so that i can show it to him. 2 guides tell me i need to get this "item" and go back upstairs and back into Jeff's room. That's the problem; i can't. I have no clue as to what to do and whenver i knock on his door i get Jeff saying "I've got nothing to talk to you about." Please, if someone knows what to do it would be much appreciated because i know you guys know how frustrating this can be. Thanks in advance.

yeah it's a great game... i just finished it 2 days ago... i hope they will make a sequel
I just finished Hotel Dusk yesterday, and I didn't have that problem...it almost sounds like you've run into a bug or something. You definitely need that newspaper before you can break Jeff down. But I got the newspaper and got back in his room no problem.
Maybe you have to ask him about all the relevant items before you leave the room...? Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.
You stand in front of his room and he tells you that he's got nothing to say to you? That doesn't seem right, because he should allow you to enter after Kyle says that he's got proof. So when you enter, you show him the newspaper and he is like oh and wow. That's when you get to pressure him.
i was stuck on the same thing for a little while. i figured out how to get past it though: you have to put the cash from your briefcase in your inventory, along with the gun, the id, the newspaper and the key, and he will let you in. anyway, i was searching online for exactly your problem and i came across your question... then inspiration hit and i went and got the cash, and voila! but i had to create an account and respond to your question just in case no one ever got back to you.. anyway, hope it helps!
