i have wanted this game to exist since the DS capabilities were so artfully used in Phantom Hourglass. i want it so bad that i sent a letter to Nintendo telling them how my fellow consumers and I would like it developed to the smallest detail, and I think its weell written enough to have a small chance with the Big N's developers. So come on. How badass would that game be. I wanna see what you think. Super Smash Bros. DS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be terrible. The small screen and lack of a joystick control makes the chances of the game happening unrealistic. Plus, the DS won't have the power to process that.

Jasonguy, I don't know how to reply to your comment, but as for mr. blatantly arrogant sphere, I intended on using 2 screens that characters could jump between in each stage and free float items like the smash ball could fly between them. plus it would have online, and it could give you the ability to trade cds and trophies similar to trading pokemon in diamond and pearl.

also, the DS had the power to make a 15 hour zelda game, a 60+ levels mario platformer, an online multiplayer Metroid Prime, and most of all, a 32 track, several character, 60 single player mission, online wifi Mario Kart. I think it has enough power for an at least medium sized quality super smash bros. plus, the DS dpad has not failed any other major series nintendo has ported to it that originally had a joystick. so there... hmph.

try playing SSBB with a sideways Wii remote. Not so fun, is it? That's what a Super Smash Bros. on the DS would be like. It would never work satisfactorily and anything with less charecters than SSBB would seem like a step backwards.

Additionally, why would you want a SSB on the DS anyways? It's really not that "OMFGBBQ" awesome of a game.

Well they could in theory use the stylus, but I can't think of how that would work out.

I'm sure, though, that if anyone can use touch screen controls, it's Nintendo.

Aslo, I hear those Shonen Jump anime figher games are really good.

Ok, Jump Ultimate Stars and it's 55 characters will be with you shortly as well.

I dunno whats up with these negative nellies, ma brutha. I thought the exact same thing as well, and I think it would work out great! The idea kinda reminds me of the Guilty Gears DS game, which would of been awesome had it not been for it's lack of online and single cart play. But if Nintendo made SSB DS and smacked some online on that puppy, it would (probably) be the coolest game on the DS.

Ise, I know you're new here but topics like "what if they made such and such game" are only to ba made in the sticky at the top of the forum. Read over all of them so you're sure where to post things

You're right though (I am too lol) there's nothing holding them back from making it except the wanting to make it.

Welcome to the forum by the way

While the thought of a DS Super Smash Bros. working well is intoxicating, we've already set up a sticky for this type of discussion.
