Ok so i just bought the ds for the 1st time ever today and i got a white lite :). i have been putting it off since the start because i didnt see anything that appealed to me despite the rave reviews it still gets and despite never playing it. than i finally caved in and got it. only have 1 game so far but already i feel like im owning something awesome and ive felt that way since i first opened the box and opened the ds to input all my settings! cant wait to get more games. lamely it feels like ive got a new friend :P. i mean the wii kicks ass but this ds feels like something special

anyonehave any good stories of when they 1st bought the ds?

I liked it, i just picked the wrong game to start with. I went with Lost in Blue, and a week after getting it alongside my DS (my sister had played it more than i did), i brought the game back to EB Games and bought Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow instead. Best decision i ever made with my DS.

I picked up the DS at launch, along with Mario 64 DS (and i got that Metroid demo as well.)

At the time i remember thinking "I sure hope i didn't just buy the next Virtual Boy".

Only other game i picked up in those first 6 months was a used copy of "Star Wars episode III" which was pretty mediocre. I also didn't like the controls of Mario 64 and barely played it. I was really regretting my decision to buy the system (i wasn't even touching it) , and with mariokart and Advance Wars still off in the distance, I took my DS back and put it towards an Xbox360.

About 6 months after that i walked into a Best Buy and they had "Advance Wars D S" on display right at the front of the store. Before i knew what i was doing, i was buying a new DS along with the game.

Havne't looked back since.I've owned, played and enjoyed more DS titlesover the past couple of years then i haveALL other games forall other systems that iown combined. Yeah, it was a bit stupid financially to play things the way i did, but in the end Nintendo managed to restore my faith in them.

I was exicted when i bought the DS lite because me and my friend waited 3 hours outside of gamestop to open, then we were the first two to get them.

Um, very happy. I was'nt really thinking of getting one since I already had a PSP, but my Aunt bought me one for my birthday last year. I can honestly say I have more fun on my DS than my PSP
