I sold some stuff at Gamestop the other day and I decided to use that money to pick up Dead Space. Saw it preowned at the cheap price of 15 dollars so I decided to pick it up. So far it's been great. It had very good voice acting and this goes a long very well with the story. The graphics are very good and detailed and the weapons are very fun to shoot with. The only problem I have with the game so far after about three chapters is that it's really not that scary. Don't get me wrong, there were a couple parts that I jumped a little bit at, but compared to Dead Space and Dead Space 2 it's not even as close to as scary. I bought this game for a horror game, but I'm really only getting a fun light-gun game with a excellent story. My other issue is it seems kind of short. I beat three chapters in a couple of hours and I'm already 3/10 done with it. So my guess it's only going to end up about 6-8 hours long. That's not a large problem for me due to I ended up getting this for free and plus there's some replay value with the challenge mode, so there is stuff to do after you beat the story. So what did you guys think of Dead Space Extraction?

Yeah, it's not scary and it's very short, but there's quite a bit of replay value if you're into what it offers.

I rented it when it first came out because I knew it wouldn't be worth full price for me at that point. I finished it once and half in the few days I had it, and I really liked it. The story is a great addition to the Dead Space universe, and the gameplay is done really well (except for the total lack of physics, which is a major part of the other Dead Space games).

I found it to be one of those great games that everyone looks down on or overlooks because of its labels. if it had not been an on rails shooter it would likely have gotten more steam in its engine.

A good game. I'm a fan of rail shooter games (I grew up playing games like Virtua Cop) and this one actually had a great story. Aye, Extraction is great :D

I really enjoyed it. I'm not the biggest fan of rail shooters, but it stayed really true to Dead Space 1 and had some good characters. Personally, thought it could have been way better without being a rail shooter, but for me to still like it proves how good it is.

It was an OK game, but it wasn't scary (although neither was Dead Space 2, frankly), and I enjoyed Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles more.

I agree with this, I would of thought that they could of made it more scary since it's a on-rail shooter. Since you can't control your character, I would of thought this would lead to more pop-up events. Plus, there were parts in the game where it felt perfect for something to pop out, but just never happened. I think they could of made this game so much scarier then it is. With it in the third person perspective you would actually see the alien latched on to you and eating your head, like in the other Dead Space's which would probably lead to more scares.

It's good - but the cut scenes are too married to the action. I don't like that. Stop/start gameplay is annoying. My main complaint is
that there is nothing else unlocked after beating all the survival mode high scores, and there is no extra or hidden content
.

I disagree. I think playing with a friend ruins your experience. You focus less on the story and more on screwing around with your friend so you really get sucked into the game less. I think this is a very compelling single player experience. With a brilliant story, fun gameplay, plenty of weapons, terrific voiceacting, this is a kind of the game that will be memorable to people years to come.

I agree, even though I never played with a friend. But there's a reason for that. I'm pretty sure 75% of the game would have consisted of both of us mashing buttons in a vain attempt to make things go faster.

This is one of the many things about this game that limits its appeal. It's a great game but only for people who like rail shooters and have the patience to play them alone. It doesn't surprise me at all that it sold so poorly, but that really should've been expected.

One of the more engrossing experiences I've had on the Wii. Definitely worth having in your collection.
