I want to erase the Opera browser, News channel and the Weather channel from my Wii.  I read the newspaper, the weather is always wrong because I live 200 miles from the nearest city it offers as an option and I prefer to surf the web on my computer.  Does anyone know how to get rid of these?

You can't delete the news and weather channel.

I also find them quite useless. Nice, but useless. Considering that the browser is the only thing you downloaded you can probably only get rid of that. (plus it will free up a ton of memory).

go into wii settings. you should see something about memory. find the channel section and delete them. i dont know why you would want to though. i highly doubt al 48 channels have been filled for you. just move them to the last page.

You're right, I haven't filled up my channels but I won't ever use the browser so I might as well get rid of it. I like keeping thing nice and neat.

Personally i think it's more impressive to show off how many channels you have. And when showing it to people you can be like look at all the nice features. True they are pretty useless and simplistic but they kinda have a purpose and i sometimes use the weather. but thats all my opinion.

The News Channel & Weather Channel are free channels included with the Wii. I don't think it's possible to delete them. You can however delete the Opera browser.

You can delete the Opera, but you can not delete either Weather or News.
