I personally hate capcom for them. They aren't bad, but as a kid I remember falling in love with the real time strategy game play, I collected action figures and everything ;) , I was a big fan of Megaman and Lan, I even remember crying a bit in my room at some of the stories :p (I was such a baby) and loved the concept of computers being the worlds dominate force, and having cyber-life forms fight on the net. *pokes Mybrute in siggy* might be why I like that game :p

But Geo and MegaMan? Travelling on radio waves via real world? I want Protoman, Colonal, Roll, and especially the MegaMan we all know and love! Who's with me!?

Through i won`t say that i really hate megaman star force, i still prefer megaman battle network. It was way better.

Versus battles were incredibly fun. Battle network would surely be a hit if a game for the series was made for the DS (i`m not couting double team, because it had counter-parts on the GBA).

IMO, playing it on multi-player is more fun than playing pokemon on multiplayer. The game mixes not only strategy, but also ability, in a balanced way, which turns out to be great. =)

I miss when Megaman was Megaman. I hate all this rpg crap. It has nothing to do with Megaman in any way. They just threw the names in there so they could get away with calling the people Fire Man and so on. The ZX games were a step back in the right direction, but not far enough. They were too much like the Zero games, and those were ok, but they ruined the cannon and made alot of retcon, which I've always hated them for doing.

You'd be surprised at how carefully they took the canon into consideration with the Zero series (You just have to remember that the X games after X5 aren't canon). Unless you were talking about ZX which just pretends the Megaman Canon doesn't exist (which is weird considering how much effort they put into making the Zero games accurate).

Its pretend, but its actually the future of the Zero story. Resuming the story in one line... [SPOILERS] After ciel make an renovable energy system... bla bla... model W is part of the ragnarok and ciel made model Z and X from their data. [/SPOILERS]

Well, yeah, the general premise is SUPPOSED to be a continuation of the Zero but It's filled with more holes then swiss cheese. Having two characters to play as didn't help things either.

Well... story was never megaman strong point to start with XD. lileth has a point, megaman was cool when it was only megaman. THrough personally i dislike anything from megaman x4 and up.

The last handheld Mega Man game that I liked was Battle Network 3, after that the series went drastically downhill for me. That being said Mega Man Battle Network 2 is one of my favorite GBA titles. I got 100% in that game including the hidden chips you can only get from battling someone else.

QFT ^^^^^

MMBN 1,2, and 3 were the best. the rest pretty much sucked in comparison i dunno why they decided to change it so drastically. its a shame cuz i wasted so much time on the series as it is one of my favorite, but i dont see another decent game coming out for it for a long while at least. kinda glad someone finally brought this up, my friend keeps arguing with me that MMBN 4 is the best of the series but he's never played any of the ones before it...

c'mon capcom, you're a "hardcore" company, why gives us this crap? =/

I never liked the entire Battle Network series. It was just getting kind of hectic. I loved the fast gameplay and characters of the Megaman X/Zero games, and the characters+card gameplay in Battle Network just never caught my interest. I've played tons of the Battle Network games, but then I lost track of the huge amounts of them. I liked Starforce, but again I lost interest quickly.

The Megaman Zero games were some of the best games I've ever played on a handheld. Everything was fast and the story was at least remotely interesting. I just adored them, and the ZX games kept the gameplay, but it just lost it's charm. The Zero games seemed more serious and the ZX games were the kind of games I really don't want people to catch me playing. If the series got anywhere near it was like Megaman Zero maybe I would actually care when a new Megaman game comes out.

Lol, MMBN 4 is the worst of the series. In my opinion, megaman 3 were the best. Megaman 5 was ok, but lacking something. Megaman 6 was good, but not as good as MMBN 3, the battle additions was cool, but the game was way too easy.

As much as I love Mega Man, I can't stand the recent games. I tried playing ZX not too long ago, and I found it to be too much of a departure from the traditional side-scrolling games.

Oh, and I lost track of the Battle Network games after the first one.

The PSP got the best Mega Man games of the generation, what with the excellent Mega Man X remake and the awesome Mega Man Powered Up (my personal favorite game in the series since Mega Man Legends).

I'd argue that the ZX games are veering back off the track which the Zero series brought Megaman back to. There's no need for that whole Human-Metal megamerging thing- they should just leave that crap to the RPG spinoffs.

Actually X6 is the last cannon game, and it gives an end to the story if you watch both endings. X7 is the first non-cannon. Zero messed up the cannon by makin the Dark Elf part of the X series. ZX is also cannon, but takes place way after the Zero series. All other series are a Universe B and C type of deal. Dash being the C universe, and the rpgs like BN and SF are the B universe. I grew up playing the originals, and have been playin MM games since I was 3 (I'm 21 now), and I hate to see how much they ruined the series with all these games. Like I said before, Zero was fun, and a good game in terms of play, but the story retconed too much and it ruined the X series.

The ZX games I don't care about much though. They are fun as a next gen Zero game, but they just get so far from what they could have been. Like playing as a boss should be awesome, not a hassle just to use for puzzles in rooms.

I've played all megaman battle network games (1 through 6) and all I can say is that after 3, all went downhill. I haven't played starforce yet, but I'm thinking of getting starforce 3 this summer and give capcom another chance.

Hm... actually X6 was non-canon. Long story but the devs were already developing to end the X series at X5 and start the zero series after it, but it seems a different team was in charge of X6 without the main devs knowing, and when they knew about it, it was too late. Hence why all the confusion.

X6 was cannon, and they put an end to the series in that one. They only brought Zero back again for the fans that kept crying about it, and they made it part of the story that Sigma was gone compleetely in X6. Plus it has one ending that leads into the Zero games. Everything after 6 was just for money and because they had to retcon and force new things to fit because of the Zero series story. Capcom has no sense of continuity with the seires. It's like how Iga changes the Castlevania cannon and retcons things after almost every game he makes, just to force things to work.

I agree, one through three were the best EVER, I believe 3 was the one were I cried about after killing Alpha, I actually thought he died XD 4-6 aren't TOO bad, but they started getting gimmicky. I'll bet that since less people were buying the new BN games (4-6) they thought we wanted something fresh, hence the new games, when all we really want is the old BN!

i tried MMSF and i played it alot for a couple days but i found that i 100% with hardly any difficulty in just under a week. imo the game was too easy, and the story was terrible. since you could only move 1 space left or right the game started to feel really easy, plus you have a shield incase you wre too slow to move O.O. i havent tried MMSF2 but i cant imagine id like it much more, it just doesnt feel as good asthe first MMBN games did.

as for ZX, i really likethe game but it really cant hold a candle to the Zero series. those games were really fast pace and i started off with MMZ2, which imo is the hardest megaman game ever lol. still, id buy a MMZX3 if it came out, i wish theyd make a better plot but the gameplay is still fun

Also a big problem with megaman star force games is the incredibly high encounter rate, specially on megaman star force 2.
